    HI! Thanks for this video. I tested your method with the same book you used but when I printed it and checked the measurements of the hips, shoulders and armholes (I also grading the sleeves), only the hips were correct, all the other measurements did not match more. Is there a method in Inkscape to measure the sleeve hollow and do all the checks before printing the pattern? Thank you

    The front bodice should be wider than the back to accomodate the bust. The front shoulder should be 26 degrees.May I know your opinion?

      Hi Josephine. Here is my opinion... - 26° is the industry standard, this bodice is based on personal/individual measurements. I should have mentioned that the shoulder slope differs from person to person and can range from 17° to 27°. Thank you for pointing this out. - Wider front - The method in the video works just fine. Thanks for watching.

    Gives a good idea of the flow of working in inkscape. It seems like an advanced topic but I'm sure I'll get there eventually. Thank you for the tutorial!

    How do you know how much to grade up or down.. the number you add or subtract?

    • @mdsewingstudio
      @mdsewingstudio 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The numbers are taken from the book Metric Pattern Cutting for Women's Wear by Winifred Aldrich. Thanks for watching.

      If you don't have the book, Diane Deziel here on TH-cam has some videos explaining it, though not for all garment types.
