I have a hand crafted bokken from Japan...an Aramaki...in white oak...Aikido style. I also have lighter faster Shinto style bokken hand cut from red hickory heartwood....an amazing piece. Still....THE best bokken producer, in all my 42yrs experience with them, are the american hickory ones by Kingfisher.✨👍

@@RKC_Dojo With restrictions in place for gyms and Dojos ..social distancing an such our floor looks like yours...sectioned off .. everyone wears a mask..we began limited practice on 17 July 2020 up to now..now all must show a Vaccine I.D...temps taken and logged...just in case they audit my Dojo...so that being said..we have gotten good at the nuances of Kihon Kata.. Regular Kendo Kata and Tankendo Kata/Jukendo Kata...we have put on bogu twice to fan the flame of Jikeiko and experiment with waza and Riai...you guys have fun...cherish these practices...(Makawao Kendo Dojo is affiliated with the Hawaii Kendo Federation on Oahu..)

Unfortunaley the Championships will have to be postponed due to a mandate by MASA (Matial ARts SouthAFrica) as they have stated raising covid cases as a concern. Will keep U posted on a new date!
