Here's my update to this video I made in 2017 (7 years ago). Just last night, during a cold spell of about 22 degrees f, I pushed the flap door closed and suddenly...."CLICK"!! I was holding A DETACHED FLAP DOOR IN MY FLIPPIN' HAND! WTH?? On close inspection, I see that the black plastic flat tongue (RECTANGULAR SHAPED) of the hinge broke off. It broke off perfectly straight exactly where the edge of the flap puts stress across tthat flat tongue inserts inside of the rectangle flat cave where the 3 little tabs insert. And so now, once again, I am an innocent victim of the disease that Jaguar engineers who are plagued by the negative effects of "BOZONE". Definition: 1. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The good news? My original fiberglass repair of the fuel flap door has been a trooper through 8 scalding hot summers and icy winters. But its that cheap flat black plastic tongue on the hinge that is the next weakest link I now must contend with. Of course I will apply some red neck ingenuity in trying to attach a hearty splint of some type. But when considering all the stress and frequency of use, I'm better off just buying a salvaged fuel flap hingefrom ebay that belonged to another valiant Knight's trusty steed (his Jag). Or, if available, an OEM hinged part is about $200....OR.....about $45 used. Have any other S-Type owners run into this same problem? If so, what was your'e fix-it solution? (P.S. for all S-type owners: I designed a cheaper way to replace your front windsheild wipers with the built-in water spray jets. Simply buy standard wipers that fit your Jag for about $70.00. NEXT: carefully cut the spray nozzle cylinders off from your old wipers, leaving an excess of the black plastic tab on each end. This leave enough to use highly sticky RED foam tape pressed against the underside of he cylinder spray nozzles. Then re-attach the small black rubber tubes and you've just saved about $100 on buying the OEM wipers.

Brilliant Scott man after my own heart

Hearing this track really brought back the memories. I wrote it in a piano room at Grady Gammage on the ASU campus. I am in a nostalgia spiral thanks to you, old pal.

What great fun to find these! I was impossibly unschooled and Scott and Sandy were my very first recording teachers. I was in awe of their talent and affability! It’s more than 40 years ago now and I still remember how kind they were with my very first songs.
