I don't know if this helps but I live in Canada and a few years ago, I had a stye inside one of my eyes, and the eye doctor refused to send me to eye surgeon even though I said taking antibiotics for three weeks did not help and discharged me. The ER doctors refused to treat me too and I ended up advocating so much and seeing a few doctors until one decided to help me. The frustration and their lies not wanting to remove the lump was absurd. You are lucky that they took care of you. If I need an invasive treatment, they wont give it to me even though I'm fair skinned and blonde. The healthcare system is biased towards me and I know it. 😢😢

I meant I had a cornea transplant

I had a. Orbes transplant and it was the best thing I ever did. The recovery was a year but I wore a pirate patch and could see out of the other eye. I was legally blind in that eye so I have to wear a contact lenses on this of the graft but it is been over 35 years and it’s still great

I truly feel bad for you. I hope all gets better. If iam honest they tell you at the eye doctor the warning of swimming in contacts. If people would listen to those warning this horrible thing wouldn't happen. Lesson learned. Hate ta say it. God bless you.

my grand mother came to see me and i wear contacts, she said my eyes look smaller with contacts in . and i just dismissed it and when on with my day i then thought about it and i looked it up and found this story .. thank you for sharing! cause she said something might be happening to my eyes she was concerned.

Glad you are doing better. Last night my eye was burning i had to take of my contacts woke up this morning and feel better was not able to open my eye yesterday

First of all, I hope what a nice person you are, you seem super kind <3 I just saw your eye infection video from four years ago, and as someone who just started wearing contacts, I really am grateful for it, I'm gonna be super careful with them ! I have a question though; Can you still get an infection if you have scratched your cornea, but you are unaware and you go swimming WITHOUT contacts in? Thank you. I've been taking my eyes for granted by not caring for my contacts and wearing old ones. I'm so sorry you had to have this happen to you juat so I would pull my head out of my ass. For whatever reason your video knocked some sense into me and how I have been taking even my life for granted on so many levels. I pray your eye healed and that you're worries and insecurities healed with it. I'm grateful for you and I'm glad I saw this. I'm no longer able to wear contacts after 20 years of using them. Putting them in hurts my eyes and it is painful and uncomfortable to have them inside my eyes. Never used to have that problem.

I swim in the ocean regularly with contacts, never open my eyes underwater and throw them out at the end of the day after I take them out because they're daily disposable ones. I wonder if this is still risky?

How long was it from when you got into the water to when you took your contacts out?

I'm so glad that you are doing better! I wore contacts for many years until I damaged my cornea. I am currently using steroid drops every 6 hours. I was curious to know if you are able to drive?

You are such a strong young lady and I command you. Just started wearing contact lenses and I’m a bit worried sometimes and try real hard to follow the instructions. Definitely listening to you will help me a lot. Stay positive and you have a beautiful life ahead of you. Thank you for sharing

consider a hard lens or scleral lens it flattens scar makes eye smooth so not fuzzy i was facing that option luckily my eye the scar got so small and transparent i could wear soft but i was wearing hard lenses for years and use to them my work soft lenses are better the len will shape your cornea and make that wobble irregular scar round and your vision should be not fuzzy were scar is good luck your beautiful inside and out

I have keratoconus which means that my cornea has become thinner and the light doesn't bend correctly and my vision is distorted. This year I got scleral contact lenses for both of my eyes which corrected my vision by flattening the surface of my eye. I'm sure your optometrist is all over this but scleral lenses may be something that could help you. It's good to see you are doing better though and I hope you continue to heal.

🥰 awww thanks for your story. What I get from your story is not that you made a mistake by swimming and Contacts 🥲I say this often go to the doctor yall! I have friends when they’re having some type of medical issues they avoid the doctor thinking they’ll be OK but after day one if you’re feeling some sort of way go to the emergency room!
