I would like to encourage Pastor Nyangweso and the leadership of 'Women who have been powered through adversity' to think seriously about colabouring and working in tandem with other organizations who are helping men. Women and men were created to work together. In Genesis 2:18 God gave Adam a women as a help meet. In the earlier decades women were underprivileged and abused. That is not the case anymore these days. We praise God that a lot has happened in the last two decades that has already empowered women. Men and women are the most equal since time immemorial. What is required in my view is a joint effort by both genders to address adversity as it affects both men, women - and children. We are intertwined and the more we work together the more realistic our solutions will be. Most problems or adversities that women will face are caused by men. It is men who will oppress women, unwanted pregnancies are caused by the participation of men, it is fathers with misunderstanding that will declare that girls will not be educated. it is male employers who demand for sexual favours in exchange for jobs. Male chauvinists like in the Alkaida regimes will have punitive laws against women. So in my view, any effective women's organization with a similar goal as the one referred to above, must involve men's organizations and even child development agencies. That will produce water tight and effective results. In our men's ministry 'Men of purpose', we involve women at the end of the 14 week course, we invite wives of the men to join their husbands and give a testimony of any changes that they have noticed in their husbands. Marriages have been changed, wives have experienced breakthroughs and children have seen a 'better father'. One of the intended outcomes of this ministry (women who have been ...) ought to be Men and children's lives impacted positively. Better women - better men - better - children. That would fast track you fundraising as you influence male as well as children. We (Men of Purpose) started a what we believed was going to be a 'Men's church'. However after a few months women started coming... and with them children. We sat down and realized that as leaders in the society we cannot keep women away. So we invited them. The Church started about three years ago, and as we speak we have a vibrant sunday school class for children. one of our three pastors is a woman. There is a women's study as well. The lesson we learnt is that we cannot help men exclusive from women. There are things we discuss as men but at the end of the day women will be affected one way or the other. My parting shot good people is this; Start by finding out what other organizations helping men are doing. find out if there is a way you can gain from them and vice versa. If there are marital issues, talk to marriage counselors with a view to bettering your ministry. The same arguments goes for children, is there anything you can learn from organizations dealing with Children? Please maintain an open attitude that may help you serve women better.
