That repair is not going to work. It's going to crack under the first pressure, separate and fall apart, then you'll be back at square one..

Man kann fast alles zusammenschweissen, die Belastungen eines intakten Neuteiles können nie erreicht werden. Vorallem bei Fahrzeugen hat man ja Bauteile (Kurbelwelle) vorallem wegen des Gewichtes immer leichter gemacht, bis sie auf dem Prüfstand gebrochen sind. Dann hat man sie wieder etwas massiger gefertigt. Dies musste man ausprobieren, berechnen kann man dies immer noch nicht.

Not to ruin the fun, but wouldn't it have been easier and stronger to just respline the good one? On a side note, i have used pinion gears as stock material. They are not that soft, you need to anil them before working.
