Hi Stacy. This set design is taken from an original Lionel dealer showroom train set from the late '50s that were sold to the public. It happened to be the set the producers of the Addams Family TV series chose to use in the "train wreck" scenes. It was adapted from using Lionel Super O track like the Lionel guys know to 027. It also made the track size to fit a 4x8 board instead of the 5x9 Super O size due to the 36" curves.

Thanks James! This set uses Customline Atlas switches as opposed to tighter radius snap switches. The reverse loops are great. And you don't need to throw switches each time you run around. Just when you want to reverse direction. The Atlas Controller makes it easy, but you still need to learn.

Yes. It depends on the size of each different tree. This set is sold but I have many others, and can make you one special to order reasonable priced. The diameter of this sets curves was 36", but you can make sets with larger or smaller curves. Do you want to order a set?

Thanks John! I had the little Scout ready to go for awhile and was using it to test pull things on the 4x8 board. Finally found his way to a home. Not sure of the gate manufacturer but looks like Marx. No markings.

Thank you! They're easier to make than you think. Anybody wanting to learn how to create scenery and terrain can find a how-to book on it. Hobbies are a good way to spend time. And you have something to show for it when you're done.

Thanks again! It's a sweet little Scout engine. It came out nice but took me a long time when reconditioning it to find out why it would lock up in reverse. Tried everything you can think of until I noticed the man who had it before me epoxied the part of the shell where the armature bearing is back on off center. I replaced the motor shell half with another one and it runs great. I like working on the old Scouts. The motor re-assembly is challenging.
