ED was outstanding with the Rams, he wasn't greedy, the Rams were notorious tight wads. If he would have had more years with Jim Everett, I think they would have gotten a ring together. He ran like nobody else, full steam and his upper body upright and straight. He is a Ram legend forever, glad I got to see him play in his prime.

When I was a kid, the Broncos used to run their Summer training camp in my home town at Colorado State University. The year Elway was drafted into the NFL and ended up in Denver, I was super excited to have a good QB for the Broncos. I rode my bike down to CSU campus to watch the team practice and stood in line to get John's autograph when he was a rookie. Sadly, the Broncos never seemed to surround John with a great team until he was almost at the end of his career. Dan Reeves showed almost no coaching ability to do anything except have John try to make another 4th quarter comeback... I'm sure that wore on John.

Elway lost 3 Super Bowls before winning 2 in a row. No one else can say that. In the crop of HOF QB's that came out, Marino, Elway and Jim Kelly only Elway eventually got rings on the way out. The Broncos were always up there but it wasn't until they have a lights out RB that they were able to get over the hump.

It's too bad Dickerson was never in an offense that had a decent passing game or his running game would have been HIGHER. or been in a spread version of the Don Coryell offense like the Rams Bob and Weave offense in St Louis.

For my money, the best I've ever seen when the pressure was on, and considering the era he played on, and some of the sorry ass teams he led. We saw how good he was, at an advanced age, once he had an elite team around him. It was like taking candy from a baby for that team. The one stain is that loss to Jacksonville in 1996, they had NO biz losing to them. Always reminds me of Pippen and Portland shitting the bed in game 7 vs. the Lakers. Had Pippen taken over offensively, vs. distributing to the younger guys who all played freaking scared, he probably wins a title w/out MJ and catapults himself into another stratosphere of GOATS.

I watched Eric from day one in NFL. College was a disaster, but if you lived then … you understood it was simply a way of life. There even was a a parody movie about it, “ Johnie Be Good” in the 88-89 range! As a professional I saw nothing wrong with the best player in the world wanting $$$. The Rams were the Bears off the west coast…. As in Dead moths on owners wallets! Until Georgia took over the $$ and spent it like a drunken Michael Jackson, they were cheap! In fact NFL players were working in the offseason until?? I don’t know All the NFL players today should thank him for their paychex!!
