Portsmouth born, watching a few hundred feet from where my ancestors were bringing in the dory near the fish houses.
th-cam.com/video/tevqF3h2fL8/w-d-xo.html
Having just been through there last week, I enjoyed this. Very old, almost a century old at this point, but worth watching for historical purposes. Today, it's mostly expensive seaside homes, highways, state liquor stores, fireworks shops, and motorcyclists not wearing helmets.
I was there. My office was in the old Crystal River Bank building at the corner of N. Citrus Ave and Hwy 19. We were approximately 7 feet above sea level. The water reached around 30 inches above floor level. Fortunately, I had flood insurance.
Very good 👍👍
Happy birthday 🥳 SISTAR 🌟🌟🌟 hahah
New Castle - the most desirable location in NH to live with the lowest property tax rate in the state. Yes, no sales tax, no income tax, and good living. Drive through the island on one of the most scenic byways in America! It's only a one-hour drive to Boston and top medical facilities, and only a one-hour drive to the mountains and lakes region. Live here, and you can walk to the town park and beach on the ocean, downtown Portsmouth for dining and shopping, and paddle in the back of Little Harbor. You can also walk to the highly desirable elementary school and two yacht clubs. The grand hotel, Wentworth-by-the-Sea, the marina, and the country club are on the south side of the one-square mile island. It's a small town loaded with history - Fort Constitution, Portsmouth Lighthouse, and Fort Stark. It sits across the Piscataqua River from the Portsmouth Shipyard where you can watch the ships and submarines sail out beyond the Isles of Shoals, just nine miles offshore. Had enough of California? "Come east," and consider coastal casual island life in New Castle.
Ich Liebe dieses Land 🥰 und das Meer NH
I lost everything.. Including my car. Floated away
👍🏼👍🏼❤️💕🌼🎄🤗
Hamfisted high volume soundtrack of generic nautical music really ruins the lovely images.
Anybody know what year this film was 1949 50 thereabouts please put it in the comments
Yes, sounded like Irish drinking songs, and did not fit the imagery. Color wasn't common in those days, and likely very pricey.
@@richardperlman1036I’ll venture a guess: 1947-‘48. In any event, the video footage was a treat. Also, while there were some musical missteps, namely the folk songs, the non-vocal music was lovely.
Tarpon springs florida.. 8th grade living on a boat. I remember this night. Wasnt supposed to be this severe. Almost died trying to get off the boat on to dry land. All docks were 7 feet underwater
Good one Jeff.
Well done, very nice!!!
Nice work Jeff.

The two submarines at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard are the Triton and the Grayling, both at the Navy Yard in fall 1940. The roll-your-own submarine on Hampton Beach at approximately 11m38s was built by a man named Thomas Buckley and was destroyed at about the same time. <www.hampton.lib.nh.us/hampton/history/military/legionpost35/USSbuckley.htm> The season is fall (sweaters but no coats, morning glories out and leaves turning). There's no talk about World War II. Conclusion, this film dates from fall 1940.
I wish I was born in those times; so lovely...
Good analysis.
So nice to have such creative neighbors! Jeff you get extra time in the bouncy house!
I have a herniated disc. My dog brought me to the ground (twice) because My arthritis in the hands wasn't able to pull her in closer when she went to go chase on impulse. I need to retrain her & tie a leash around me but adjustable so she's at my side for training and looser for exploring. I was thinking of an expensive D Ring leash found online but can't afford. This may solve two things: 1. Dog training in walking nicely on leash (I slacked off after my initial injury & my husband thought he'd trained her) and 2. My life
Thank you!
This is exactly what I was looking for now I just need to fine a way to make this a loop leash for my dog. This was very helpful.
Narrator says Huntley Spaulding was twice governor of New Hampshire. This is wrong. He only served one term. His brother, Rolland Spaulding served a single term as governor as well. Their service to the state were ten years apart.
Henry seems to be just putting up with Mosey's attempts...have you tried eggplant?
Beautiful and warm on New Years Eve
I knew that I had seen you do this but I lost tract of the link until a page I was on directed me here, so made my day LOL. I really like how simple this is and very reasonable to purchase the rope even more so if one already has the rope. My Son purchased one at a horse show but for the horses they used if I recall 1/2" dia. rope and it was made out of the really soft nylon rope also. The 1/2" might sound large but he has a very large dog so the rope leach looks wise fits. Thanks for your Time - Cheers
Lovely - look forward to seeing this video on www.accommodationsworldwide.webs.com
thanks, this is really helpful, i just made one !
ocal simply wonderful!! The owners are very attentive, and make us feel at home. The site has the option of getting a bigger house, the rooms are beautiful and very comfortable, but you can opt for cabins, all neatly arranged and the possibility of maintaining the diet, is fully equipped with refrigerator, figão, cafeiteira, everything we need for a beautiful lunch!
Excellent!!
I think it's a BED and Breakfast. Not a Bead and Breakfast. Just saying.
Thanks David. I now have an extra "a" available. If you can use it, please let me know?
Jeff Bernstein Good one! ha ha .. Good job on the video too if you're the one who developed it. I'm the one who built the site.
***** Thanks David. Yes I made the video for Sergio and Josi. Your wordpress site looks real good. It would be great if you would insert the TH-cam video into their website. If you privately host videos, you can grab the 720HD version from TH-cam. Thanks, Jeff
very simple but very useful, thank you for sharing you idea,i already made 1 for my dog.
Jeff,Thanks for this video. Really useful and really easy. Just made one for my dog. I see it as really being useful.
Hi Jeff, youtube doesn't like links, so its the 3 w, then in one word: river front home fl dot com . click the link "see these videos"
Glad you like it. using it on your site is fine. What is the link? --Jeff
Hi Jeff, I think you met my husband Michael during the Taste of Inverness Festival and the Presentation at the Crystal River Preserve State about Indian history. I love this short intro of the Withlacoochee and have it embedded with a link and your name n one of my listing sites. I hope that's OK, otherwise let me know. Thanks
Great idea. I store my extension cord that way, had not thought about a leash and I just made a ten foot leash that this is perfect for.
Thanks for sharing this with the world! I will definitely have to try this, it's a great idea and will solve the problem of the long line I train my dogs with. Now it will be much more manageable.
BuddyLee is my second favorite dog
Loved this video and love Capt Rick! He is the best. Try him out and you will know what we mean. Whether it is a day of fishing for just a ride down the Withlacoochee if is a wonderful experience!
Great idea, Jeff! Thanks, Larry
My husband and I went there today. We were the only ones there, and it was beautiful. The board walk is amazing and the lovely bridge. It was so peaceful and warm. We walked up a few flights on the tower but not being good at heights, couldn't go further. Wonderful place. Memorized the name...With...La...Coo...Chee.
Jeff - This is a great video and I sent it to my friends. I think I met you last Sunday at Wilderness Day. I was one of the greeters. We went back yesterday and hiked the whole preserve - beautiful!
Cassie - Thanks so much for your comment. I put the slide show together and wanted to know if you have walked through the WGP in Yankeetown, FL or just discovered the TH-cam video accidently? Jeff B.
I love the Isles of Shoals. My parents took me to the Isles every summer when I was a child. For the past 7 years since my child was born I have been taking her back to the Isles of Shoals also. We day dream about all year from our homes in Michigan and Florida. We are life long Congregationalists but go to Congregational Conferences about half the time and Unitarian Conferences about half the time, Wesimply love that place.
