Just added Prophet Song to my "to read" list. Thanks for recapping your year! I have recently started reading more fantasy genre and love to hear your thoughts on all these books. A few of my fave books in 2024 were: A Long Song For Ricki Wilde, Just for the Summer and the Powerless/Reckless Trilogy. Can't wait for book 3 to come out. My most unique book for me was The Emotion Code which is just not my normal read but found it fascinating. Thanks again. Look forward to 2025 reading!

It’s too bad you didn’t like Elantris, I’m excited to hear you’re reviews about Sanderson’s other books in 2025 though! I think the most unique book I read this year was Prophet Song! It doesn’t have any punctuation or paragraph breaks, and made me cry even though books never make me cry

Have you read Little Thieves yet? it's got a pretty good fall vibe to it, I think, with critters that are spoopy coming out here and there, and also it feels like autumn. I think it may take place in fall but I'm a little unclear about it. HOWEVER it is REALLY REALLY good, and it's based off the fairy tale 'The Goose Girl' and it gets into friendship and trauma and healing and coming to know who you are and is also about a thief who is pulling shenanigans throughout and trying to outthink the love interest at every corner....

I'm with you, I loved the premise for Three Dark Crowns and was really disappointed by the execution (especially the 2nd half). And I keep my copy of Girls of Paper and Fire for the same reason, I really enjoyed it but have no urge to continue with the series 😆

Probably "Little Thieves/Painted Devils" is my favorite new book that I am suddenly obsessed with (Margaret Owen) - It's based on a fairytale but dramatically skews into its own thing very quickly and I cannot describe how much I love it. The next book isn't out yet and I'm feeling tragic about that. The book that I'm all about that I'm rereading to my husband is "Vampires of El Norte" which. I cannot speak highly enough of that one either. June has been good to me, when it comes to books.
