Such a shame all engines have gone down the Wet Belt route. Ive used Transit Customs for the last 20yrs doing 20 to 30k miles per year, and theyve been reliable workhorses. Now looking to change van again but my trusted mechanics have all said the same "Avoid the wet belt". They've had engines failing on clients at 60k and two weeks ago had a catastrophic engine failure at 44k. First warning the driver got of wet belt failure was when his brakes stopped working🫣 . These were all well maintained vehicles too. Now with Ford having recently reduced the wet belt change interval doesnt give me confidence in buying one knowing that even with good maintenance and correct interval belt changes you basically have an enegine playing Russian Roulette every time you turn it over. So now im struggling to find an alternative as I feel like I'm cheating on my previous Customs. FORD please bring back a reliable chaindriven engine.

I am a Renault Trafic owner and interested in the new ford custom but I am worried that the van might be a lot wider for width restrictions and also less taller for storage then the remault and have less payload capacity. I would like to see a video on the 2 vans being compared for these reasons and quality etc. Just a thought as no videos oit yet on this comparison.

I had an enterprise custom hire for around a month, and overall, I really liked it. I actually hired two different type and the limited version was the winner as it had a elbow rest!! The cabin was a really great place to be, could spend the whole day in it!! Screen was just a breath of fresh air, controls took a while to get used too and can be confusing but a million miles better than the old one! Sound system was great, good to take the good stuff out of the cars. Reversing camera is insane coming from an expert which is small and poor visual. Mirrors where great coming from an expert. Doesnt bouch around as it has coil suspension Bad bits Costs a small fortune and doesnt have 2 side doors, i dont get why they arent standard. Barn door really fly about in the wind, moved open a couple of times in the wind, can see an update when the van gets reviewed as its not great! Hinges look better but paint job not the best. Some of the panels fit arent the best. Mpg isnt great, 35mpg on average, Expert can get 45mpg if you want Loud in the cabin compare to an Expert. Overall Its the best but if you on a budget the psa group stuff is ideal as its fine but still 35k with a bit of kit on it. Custom will keep its value so maybe its worth the extra as it wouldnt actually cost much more to have a better van. Wet belt is an issue but if you get it serviced every year should be fine, but ofcourse you never know! Waiting for the high roof version as they are a great comprise but ford taking an age with release etc. If you can get a good finance deal on a 150hp limited I would be interested!!

Always enjoy these walkarounds but I must point out the stratospheric aerosol injection (or chemtrail) in the sky for those who are unaware ✈️ 🙏

Auto climate control means I just set the temp. , probably won’t be using the screen for that much, but I get it. The old van didn’t have auto climate which drove me bonkers.

If the black divider was removed could this van sport a camper style or is it too small? Maybe pull the seats forward every time you want to sleep? I only ask because it appears on the small size and I’m worried I won’t fit.

Worse design, higher Price. 🥲 So many small setbacks. No physical controls for heater etc., worse cupholding overall, lower roof, no vanity mirrors or light there, worse side mirrors, doorhandles are not as good as before (not only the rear door handle), “Cooler” design that just makes it look like a stub-nosed Citroën van.. As much as I was expecting greatness from the VW/Ford collaboration, just as much I feel We have been let down. Thanks for the comparison. Great video.
