Your video is throwing Americans under the bus! Why don't we all just leave already?🤨
I’m all for helping people quickly get their lives, and homes back, but if the homes are quickly rebuilt with any random materials, and aren’t rebuilt with FIREPROOF materials, and roofs, etc. they’re just going to burn AGAIN in the future!! I lived in Malibu in 1993 when HUGE fires burned, homes burned down, horses ran up and down PCH! ……and I lived through the 2018 Woolsey Fire which almost burned my house down and decimated Point Dume in Malibu. That was ENOUGH for me, I retired early to Las Vegas. 🤷🏼♂️. Now I just visit L.A.!!
In my personal opinion, I do not see these communities being rebuilt for many years potentially even a decade. The reason I say this is because of what I personally experienced and saw with the rebuilding process during the Thomas Fire from Ventura to Santa Barbara. To this day there are still houses that haven't been rebuilt, that fire only took out nearly 1200 structures and was back in 2017 or 2018. Thank you!
I moved after the 2018 Woolsey Fire!! My home didn’t burn, but my State Farm home insurance rose…….60%!!!! after the fire!! I moved to no income tax Las Vegas, and just visit L.A. now (my sister and her husband moved away also). After I moved, State Farm eventually DROPPED my entire area where my home was!! 🤷🏼♂️
I remember the Woolsey fire it was terrible. I live in Chatsworth so I'm very familiar with the area. I'm sure insurance premiums all through out southern California will be going up drastically. In my personal opinion, I don't think that insurance companies will even offer coverage after this. This one was really bad. I've seen the effects of fires first hand but I've never seen anything like this. Tens of thousands of homes and structures wiped out. Thank you for your comments!!!
At 13:20 on the left, I see Oracle computers billionaire Larry Ellison’s +$300 million (not exaggerating) brand new, +25,000 square foot beach mansion didn’t burn down!! …….He owns approximately 25 other Malibu homes, PLUS hotels, and restaurants in Malibu!
Yes there are some very wealthy people that live all through out these communities. Hopefully, they wake up and realize that what is taking place all throughout LA is not normal. Thank you!
I love your honesty and your authenticity. I don't think most of us want all illegas deported. Just the bad actors. We are a country of immigrants. We can make room for the "good" ones 😊
I agree with you. We need to create a better more effective, and more efficient way to enter this beautiful country legally. Thank you for your thoughts and comments!!!
15 minute cities, weather weapons, wake up Cameron.
I love it! Thank you for the comments!!!
I’m glad Rick Caruso was smart enough to have private firefighters to save his fairly new “Palisades Village” from burning down! You can see it intact on the left past the burned Gelson’s (which is on the right) in the heart of Pacific Palisades with stores like Erawhon, and Saint Laurent, etc. …….He is a billionaire with COMMON SENSE, hopefully he’ll be the next mayor!!! 👍👍👍
When he lost I was so disappointed. Maybe this tragedy is enough to open the eyes of the residents in SoCal. Clearly, the direction the city is headed in downward. Thank you for your thoughts and comments!!!
It's so heartbreaking to see. The people have lost everything they had! Devastating!
The worst part of it all is the fact that it could have been prevented. Had the city and state allocated funds and resources towards wildfire prevention or mitigation like they should have. Thank you for your thoughts and comments!!!
It’s gotta be the ultimate worst feeling in the world to loose literally everything you have in this world and then people wanna look at what you have left. That’s why he felt bad and left. I would also. It’s almost disrespectful. Good job at leaving.
You nailed it! I felt like I was doing something wrong by driving through the neighborhood and filming it. All I want to do is provide some insight and show how catastrophic this fire really was. The last thing I want to do is show disrespect to the community. I cant wait for the day that I will be able to post a video showing how beautifully they rebuilt the palisades!!! Unfortunately, that's not gonna be for a very long time. Thank you for your kind words and comments I appreciate them!!!
Sorry but the actual build is only worth 3 to 5 million hence the insurance coverage. The location adds to the premium. I just redid an apartment in NYC for 6 Million in construction. Transplant that somewhere else and I might get 1 Million or 25 million. It's all location, location, location.
Yes, I would have to agree with you. Most of the value of these properties is held within the land or location. However, in my opinion, there is now a substantial increase in risk associated with these properties and many unknowns. For example, will these communities even be insurable in the future? What will the permitting process look like? What will happen to the value of homes that haven't burned down? If the value of your home doubled since 2020 what happens to all that equity (gone)? If the insurance company only covers the mortgage cost, do you still have to pay the HELOC that you pulled out? Most refinanced and pulled out liquidity or equity from their home while interest rates were low. Also, mortgage rates are still very high 7-8%ish and the mortgage application rate is at a 30-year low. (Not much demand) There are many unknowns and risks now. Which really means blood in the water for shark investors. Investors will buy this land their just gonna want it for a huge discount. Thank you for your thoughts and comments I appreciate it!!!
@@Cameron.Desborough Well the insurance issue is a growing concern, and unlike some of the comments here, it is not a Red State or Blue State divide. Florida is close to a complete pull out by the major companies and Citizens (basically state insurance) is the last player left in many areas. You raise important questions and I think the future is basically going to be only the wealthy who can self-insure are going to be able to build and own in certain zones. I am sympathetic to these homeowners of course, but the value is mostly in the land, not the construction. However, they are vulnerable to changes in state law that might prohibit rebuilding or restrict the type of build they might undertake, but I suspect that the majority along Malibu, especially Carbon Beach are able to finance their rebuild and likely did not require a mortgage in the first place. The problem will be in the re-sale value if there are dramatic changes to insurance availability . This is something we are all going to have to face whether you live next to the coast, in tornado alley or anywhere vulnerable to extreme weather.
Again trees and greenery stand tall ! J
Most trees are burned, and scorched. Are you blind?!
@eddieg6436 wow! Nice one !
Stay on topic. Wandering off on this and that is irrelevant and incorrect. Stay on topic. When you don't know, it's just an unsupported opinion. Someone else speaking up is just an opinion, called hearsay. Stay on topic.
Yeah your right I do have a tendency to wonder off topic, that's something I need to work on. (my mind wonders). Also, please take into consideration the fact that when I make a video like this there's a million things going on around me while driving a tractor trailer semi truck in the rain and in a construction zone with police/ firemen/ construction workers and many other hazards everywhere, all of this goes on while I give my commentary. All of my comments are just me sharing my personal thoughts and opinions. Everything I say should be taken into consideration and with a huge grain of salt. Most of the time I make very broad generalizations and vague descriptions. Its very challenging, But I will do my best to improve. I appreciate the constructive criticism. @@Cameron.Desborough Not kidding... 7% of the population have ADHD or ADD. The experience is tight focus and inability to take one's mind off those thoughts without them flying away, mostly inaccessible again. Losing one's train of thought. This is a condition, not an illness. It's permanent; but that fractured rush of thoughts can me treated with aa couple pills once or twice a day. ADHD is thrilling, but it's personally painful as order is not achievable but for moments. Meds change the person to less managed to more managed, rarely fully managed. The personality changes only a little bit. More business can be done. Someone kind enough to help long term makes the ADHD life so much more enjoyable. There may be ADHD clinics in your region. UCLA has one; it's only by continuous effort that they will see the applicant and then test them. Online there will be ADHD and ADD tests. Don't weight too much on them if this is interesting to you. But the tests show clear cases of ADHD/ADD. At the same time, some have bipolar characteristics. So, that's 2.
No worries. This was planned, and so is your future. You will own nothing, eat bugs and be happy. Like it or not, it's a fact.

FYI the land is worth way more than the actual house so its not as bad as you think insurance coverage-wise. The value of the land is determined by amount of beach frontage.

the value of the house and the cost to rebuild are two different things though. Although $3mill probably not enough to rebuild on the coast, even waiving building codes and inspection, coastal commission.

18 months? Lol. Barrie ontario Canada, aka, the boonies. My house burned March, so almost a year. The roof is on with mo shingles mind you. Yes, you are correct there's no shot this place is gonna get rebuilt in 18 months. I've never seen anything like it. In my personal opinion, it will take more than a decade to rebuild these communities. Also, a lot of these people are gonna have a rude awakening when they see how little their insurance policies cover. Thank you for your thoughts and comments!!!

Good video brother. I was born and raised in So Cal somewhat near here and it's just sad to see all of this. I moved out in late 2005 because of my job relocation to Arizona. It's so different than what Cali has become over the years. I still have family and friends who live in So California and I feel sorry for them. Stay safe brother...
What took place here is a complete and total tragedy and unfortunately the light at the end of the tunnel is very very far away. I hope that the people who live in socal will use this experience as an opportunity to remove and vote out the people who run the state and the city. This was a complete and total failure that could have been prevented.
Thank you for your kind words!!! I really appreciate it!!!
A lot of people who lived in PP inherited the family legacy home. So please don’t be disingenuous about making a blanked statement. Please do your homework before publicly commenting
I'm sure many people inherited their family home in Pacific Palisades. However, there is no way to prove that, and even if you could why would that matter? Also, I hope you can see the irony in your statement about "blanketed statements". Like the one you just made. It is not my intent to be disingenuous. @ hopefully… but if all the solid people leave… they’ll lose their tax base
Over the years millions of Californians have been leaving. This is one of the many reasons why the state as a whole is in over 1.6 TRILLION dollars worth of debt. These fires will attribute to the states already massive debt. Also, the amount of taxes that the state collects via (property taxes) post LA fires is going to be reduced substantially only further exacerbating the states debt.
Amazing how the fires completely destroy the home and the trees right next to it still have green leaves. Makes you wonder
You know its funny you say that because the first time I drove through the area I had some very weird feelings. There are some very odd ways in which the fire burned. Almost like a laser beam came through or something. Very odd. Thanks for the comment!!!

Have you ever seen a forest fire? Plenty of green stuff burns. The idea that a tree wont burn from a fire because its alive and green is just idiotic

Unfortunately, in this video, you have a lot of facts wrong. I think you need to go back check some things but as far as Donald Trump letting go of people, the comments he made where people that are working remote and working from home, people have to come back to the office that’s what is aggravating him. And I agree with thatpeople should go to work not work at home.
Yes your probably right, and I'm sure I have made some inaccurate statements. But in my personal opinion when we take a step back and look at the bigger picture in totality we will see that Donald Trump is pushing an agenda that will drastically reduce government spending, thus leading to governmental job loss. Low income is a fucking scam you gotta make more than a certain amount and not more than a certain amount
Yes you are right. Once you qualify for low income housing you now eliminate the need for financial improvement. In my opinion it creates a complacent person with little drive or ambition. Ultimately leading to their own demise. Thank you for your comments.
When Blacks/Mexicans come in your area, it is not comfortable, and they paid for comfort, 2.0 goin to plan...fk section 8
Low Income Housing? Probably more like High Density Housing. And the little frogs and brush/habitats will all be mowed over with one big square of Multi Family Condo's. Don't worry a Preserve will be set aside for all those precious birds and frogs. California is so worried about the accumulated brush surrounding homes that added to the brush fires, is now replacing that with one large 'footprint' of concrete. That is my guess.
@@barbies4you758 You are so right. This state has completely lost its marbles.
After having swaths of California BURNED TO THE GROUND, the thought that people are concerned with certain types of housing being built boggles my mind. Your home has been reduced to ashes in a state known for wildfires where the best and worse communities can be reduced to nothing in a night, should be a reality check for everyone... Not a time to complain about who supposedly will live in a community. So far as these millionaires you speak of working hard to earn their millions..LOL... NEVER does a wealthy person work to become wealthy... They earn their wealth byway of corruption, undermining, fraud, embezzlement etc... in short they are "High Class" HOODLUMS often of the perverse kind, living off of ill gotten gains. I find it particularly funny that protests would erupt from such actions as types of housing, when over the past 20 years, wealthy real estate developers have bought up whole sections of communities from people in the moderate to low income class only to force them out by jacking the rents/fees/taxes etc SKY HIGH, with no concern for where these people will live... even if it forces them into homelessness (it can be seen all over California). But the "wealthy" are concerned for who lives in their neighborhood? We look at places like La Hainia Hawaii, swaths of North Carolina, Tennessee, New Mexico and even California itself... How many of those "WEALTHY" people are contributing to, helping, redeveloping for those devastated by the fires and storms?... NONE!!! Where is Bezo, Soros, Buffet, Gates, Zuckerberg, Ellison etc and their 2 Trillion dollars in wealth? ... So just like they show zero concern for people, so the same will be done to them. Those areas destroyed in all of those states just so happen to also be slated to become SMART CITIES... think those fires are a coincidence?
When you vote blue, this is what happens.
