What is center to center? For Decorative hardware the "center to center" refers to the distance between the center points of the two holes for mounting hardware like drawer pulls or cabinet handles. This measurement ensures that the hardware is evenly spaced and aligned properly on the surface.

    Question about what hinges to buy: We added shaker style trim to all our flat kitchen cabinets (50 years old with face frames and old fashioned hinges). Now that the cabinet fronts are deeper (due to the trim depth), the cabinet doors at the corners of the kitchen hit each other when opened so that each door can only open about 60 or 70 degrees. Is there a hinge type that would allow the door to move inwards a tiny bit when opening so that it won't hit the adjacent door?

    Thank You! I've been searching for a solution since hammering in the dowels breaks the melamine and sometimes the crack extends to the hinge hole compromising the solidity which is the whole purpose of using dowels.

  • @MagicPsyche
    @MagicPsyche 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

    2:55 If those hinges are for face frame installation, what is the unused screw hole for? And, what happens if the door is opened beyond the opening angle say, if someone bumps the door while its open? Seems that unsupported hinge would just split the frame and yank out the screws... I watched all the videos in this playlist but, must have missed where you discuss opening angles and the reason there are different angles, and what for.. What is the standard opening angle? Why are most hinge angles 110 degrees or less, when a door that doesn't open all the way is prone to being pushed beyond that angle, potentially damaging the frame?

  • @MagicPsyche
    @MagicPsyche 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

    At 4:22 is the base plate supposed to hang off the frame? It appears to be a frameless base plate which is meant to be flush with the side of the cabinet yet, the manufacturer just doesn't care things being pulled out of the cabinet might get hung up on the hinge?... Doesn't seem to be purpose built, just "whatever"?
