Naval Jelly! That fireplace is an amazing combination of metal art and beautiful tile ❤❤ It’s so shallow though, so for coal? 🧐
Possibly coal, but there is evidence of a gas line going to the fireplace.
I've tried Naval Jelly on less rusty things only to be disappointed.
@ I couldn’t find it ten or so years ago but then there it was again. I assume it’s not the original formula because some dimwit ate it or something along those lines. 40 years ago it was just magic … like many things 🤷♀️ Thanks again for sharing your story 😊
Grate job...
Thanks.
Super interesting! I have never seen a heat gun used for anything but crafting- so much less mess than the gloppy stuff although I can see where it might be tedious. Are you installing double panes? I know the Brits have an interesting window system that allows for something like this window but not really investigated here in that US. #truewindowrestoration 😊
This is just a cellar window. No double panes here. One pain is enough.
@ 😂😂😂👍🏻
Jeez. You sound like Great Uncle Bulgaria from the Wobbles of Wimbledon. With wisdom too.
I appreciate your sticktoitiveness, I have been viewing all the videos, now I`ll ask if this will be your home you will occupy or rental property? And do you plan on subbing out work to tradesmen?
Intriguing questions. Stay tuned for the Mason chapter.
Wait a second 🤚 did I miss the leak check? Be careful!!
All the joints looked pretty dopey and I did a nose check.
Yikes, I finally noticed the size of that water heater 😳
It's on cement blocks so it looks taller than it is.
You have lovely hair ❤ but it would be more helpful to have the camera focused on your hands such as seeing you apply the dope etc. There was an extended period where it was a mystery….were you threading pipe? Making a sandwich? 😉 I do appreciate your work - thanks again for sharing your progress
Good point. Thanks. I was more focused on the task rather than showing the task. The other problem lies in not having a camera operator. I have setup a static wide shot. To bad I don't like pipe dope sandwiches.
@ 😂😂 they would be rather pasty, I’m sure. I can see where it’s a big challenge to try and work while constantly trying to get good video. You have a wealth of knowledge- it’s fun to watch and pick up bits from you although I hope I never have to replace gas pipe 😱
Good grief - that flooring is a bit of a challenge but the effort will be worth it for sure - that nail extractor is worth its weight in platinum 😅 Thanks for sharing
Dead as a door nail 😂😂 so allegedly back when nails were hand made, the door nails were irretrievable thus “dead” and never reincarnated as maybe a cupboard nail…glad to see you continuing on…renovating is so interesting to me
The hairspray is crazy clever!!
I’m intrigued by the cellar entry. My dad earned money as a boy going around and lighting the boilers in peoples basements every morning which makes me wonder if that wasn’t possibly access for the boys that did that job. Unfortunately, I can’t ask him, but maybe someone else knows and will post. Long term how will you keep the Apple box from becoming a victim of outdoor weather? Have a blessed day and thanks for sharing 😊
Your idea of a Boiler Boy entrance is as plausible as anything I’ve come up with. Thanks for your contribution.
I happened up on this video and was having flashbacks of my year 😂 Bless your heart, I felt the pain of the rock sifting - that’s not a job for the weak …I look forward to seeing your other videos! Well done, Sir 😊
Do not EVER stand on a ladder like that again. You can wait until one of us is there.
Is the handrail made of old water pipes and connectors?
You are about to give me a heart attack! Please be careful.
