great
Glam starts here. Appropriately from a Birmingham band. Great to hear in stereo and cleaned up. Unloved by Roy himself and under promoted but deserves more credit - it's 3 years ahead of its time.
Awful set and choreography.
❤❤ 2024 ❤❤
I wonder where this clip was shot?
I'm not content to be with you in the daytime Girl I want to be with you all of the time. Sure sounds like that Kinks record I mentioned
One of their least well known songs and some bold moves about The Move- they should have been able to tour the states here and had they? The Who may even have been scared as GREAT a band as they are. I have been a huge fan of Roy, Carl, Rick (and before him Trevor Burton), and Bev's work since I was 14 years old. These songs get better and better. The UK was fire back then the whole world. Another band I'd strongly recommend who had ZERO success is Jason Crest try them and you will be amazed! This was the greatest time for rock- in its youth.
My favorite of theirs. I was a teeny hopper but remember this hit from way back when the music was fabulous! DC5 one of the best!
American Version: 'Twas in the days of seventy-six When freemen young and old All fought for Independence then Each hero brave and bold! 'Twas then the noble Stars and Stripes In triumph did appear And defended by brave patriots The Yankee Volunteers 'Tis my great delight to march and fight Like a New York Volunteer! Now, there's our City Regiments Just see what they have done: The first to offer to the State To go to Washington To protect the Federal Capital And the flag they love so dear! And they've done their duty nobly, Like New York Volunteers! 'Tis my great delight to march and fight Like a New York Volunteer! The Rebels out in Maryland They madly raved and swore, They'd let none of our Union troops Pass through Baltimore But the Massachusetts Regiment No traitors did they fear But fought their way to Washington Like Yankee Volunteers! 'Tis my great delight to march and fight Like a New York Volunteer!
Шикарная вещь! Splendid!
Definitely sounds like the song for Joe Jack McKay & his beautiful bride Judy Barnes to dance to for their first dance as newlyweds.
I’ve always loved The Move (I’m old enough!), but this really isn’t up to the standard of their other songs - it’s a bit directionless. And it’s not one of Roy’s favourites.
Me too, and until very recently I've often skipped it in favour of their more psychedelic creations of the time, but then the penny dropped-this was 1968, and is arguably the first glam rock tune, therefore bestowing on Roy rightly and deservedly IMHO the instigator of glam. You can see dashes of it in his later work with the Move too, but as the true genius he is, just treats this as a throwaway song.
shyte.
Hallgassatok meg a Julia-t, vagy a Red balloon-t. Egyertelmu, hogy a dobos, Dave Clark a szoloenekes, nem pedig Mike Smith.
Dave Clark, the drummer singing. Ez a dobos hangja.
And HE did get to stand on the moon above HE got do it 12 times over.
Great song which sadly was not a big hit in the UK. Thanks.
This essential song was a huge hit when it was first released, just one amazing song among many others from a huge array of great bands and musicians creating and sharing stunningly wonderful music then. We loved it then and knew how lucky we were to be young and aware. It was an era that was golden and never to be repeated. You had to be there to know that. Everything was fresh, brand new and evolving very fast. There is nothing like it now.
Good song but I think her lip synching was out of timing haha
The right music 😢
Should've keep in a loop
HOW did Petula get her tremendous booming voice from when she only stands at 5ft' 2"inch. Brilliant world class' top notch singer. Brilliant top notch song by one of the greatest songwriters ever. You just couldn't go wrong with these two. Three when Jackie Trent was involved.
Great tune! Love the choreography!
PEZZACCIO scoperto nel 1986 a 18 anni e videoregistrato dalla RAI che trasmetteva vecchissime puntate di un programma tedesco primissimi anni 70: la versione che ho io è leggermente diversa e in Bianco e Nero...
I hear four voices harmonizing. I guess Mike Smith besides the lead vocal , carries a sustained blend with Denis, Lenny and Dave with the lower register. I hope that in the future releases, Clark would give us the true Stereo version of this masterpiece plus many more. I Love it ! From 1964.
I remember this one well summer of 1965
I was just a little man when this came out.😁 I adored it then and still do as I near 67 year old.🥰
Groovy!
Your channel is chocked full of hits!
I want to be there!
I love that dress!
Perfect!
Pin-ups lead me here! Thank you so much!
Sharp!
It just feels right!
The band's success in the US was amazing. 17 top 40 hits in which 8 made the top 10 and "Over & Over" hit #1 on Christmas Day, 1965.
Petula Clark is still outstanding. She refused to accept the American racist social parameters of her time.
Excellent !

I was 13 when this and all the other DC 5 Hits came out. The first LP i bought was DC Greates 1967 and I took this wonderful Dancemusic to every party!!! And 55 years later this is still a very good Rock&Roll Music,,,,,
Born free
I love that petula Clark always sang positive songs! I love this one.
thank you for putting this together DIGOLA 48, the long time version with this clear video and studio audio is not to be found.
Grooooovy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
57 years later, it is still a Great song to hear. It is meaningful and well sung and played.
Sam Andrew showed up in the studio where Moby Grape was recording a new song. He said "you guys are better than the Beatles". If the beatles' performance/materials were 4.0, Moby Grape could earn 4.06 in a few nights out of their career which averaged about 2.8. Roy Wood's group, with or without Lynn, easily scored 4.5 any day, averaging 3.7 in my opinion. 青い服の人、超キモイ、超ダサい、超天才、ひぇええええええ~~~
Brilliant exemplar of a most exciting time.
One can always feel the optimistic Tony Hatch songs. He was always spot on.
dusty was beautiful; her voice had her own unique sound....lovely! great to dance to. RIP. She was 59. The cause was breast cancer, said her agent, Paul Fenn. Mar 4, 1999. ...................... betty gordon, ames, iowa, fan
Wow! just look at that Gibson guitar played by Lenny Davidson............ Shiny and perfectly toned.
