These are terrific videos. Sure brought back lots of old memories. Thanks for sharing Dave.
nice to see so many familiar faces so many good memories there ❤❤❤Happy New Year !!!!
Thanks a lot, Dave. So many memories… Miss it all.
lol why did I get recommend this? I hope that guy with the stools in his mouth has good dental😊
Not sure why this popped up in my recommendations as I don’t live near, nor have ever been anywhere close to Victoria, but this was a true joy to watch and I’m very grateful that you have posted it! I’m 29 and from the Asheville, NC area. This scene reminds me so much of what I experienced as a child and teenager in the downtown Asheville busking scene at around the same time. For whatever reason, be it cultural or economic, this doesn’t exist anymore in the same capacity here, declining throughout the 2010s. I’ve heard similar stories and timelines of other towns and cities of the same ilk. It’s really something I’ve thought a lot about and would be interested to hear anyone’s perspective as I think it’s indicative of larger shifts in our societies that may not necessarily be good. Once again thank you for posting this gem! Sorry for my reminiscing!
The scene here has been in serious decline too. People just don't really appreciate it anymore... too wrapped up with their phones. Live music is declining in general. A sad state of affairs. Thanks for watching!
@ Definitely true. I think it’s that combined with the incredible cost of living in a lot of these types of arts hubs (and just everywhere frankly). It’s not really possible any longer to busk full time and I think that drives down the quality as well and deters the better musicians from even considering it as an option.
@@williamtrakas3142 why isn't it possible to busk full time? I did it for many, many years. I only do a few hours a week now but it is still possible to do it full time. The money isn't really worse, at least not to my knowledge. I just need more time off, in my late 60s.
Thanks for sharing this Dave! Great times and memories for many who visited to watch and listen to Victoria's busking community.
Well Dave, that sure was fun!! Cheers!! :^)
Very Entertaining , The Golden Age of The Causeway . Victoria Canada .
****COULD SOMEONE AND OR ANYONE GIVE ME THE LYRICS TO THIS **POLITE**. VERSION ON THE RODEO SONG ????!!!!****... THANKS !!!!...😁🥰😆🤩🎼🎵🎶🎻🎻🪕🎹
My wifes uncle tatt RIP
Please say hi to Johnny for me
Great cover.
Excellent, Dave!
great song
Great Stuff Dave
Great
Thanks Dave!! Great stuff....
You can see how much Dave liked me. That's cool because he wasn't very endearing to me, either. A fine Musician with a Lion Heart. David forgot he did some great harmonica playing in this Band as well. I wish him well. That Robbie K on the Bass was and is a national Treasure. Drummer in the back...G Man...funny, scattered, striving for literacy...thinks he's a lousy drummer...fooled himself or was fishing for compliments...I dunno, he sure loves to be the life of the party.
Awesome
Really great.
Nice! Put a smile on face. Thanks!
Nice History . Always Love John.
Best tremolo ever build.
This musician is a blues legend !
I wasn't there but I know Derek Walsh . Was this done off Somenos Road at the pink pig ranch just north of Duncan ? Derek was hanging with a chick named Nikki I think and she had a sister named Rolanne . Those two were in constant heat for musicians and artists and would throw out three words, " I love you " ! in hopes of breaking down your common sense and they couldn't understand why I took a pass as they both were very good looking . Aah but those days are gone and I thank God for for not falling for the temptation ! Cheers buddy and I am struggling to rustle up boxes for the records we will eventually connect , goodnight and may God bless as Red Skelton used to say .
beautifully done
Nice!👍
Sherm is the best guitar player and musician in Canada by far!
Who are these beautiful bearded men???
I will come to Victoria to see them real soon....
Dave, thanks for the nice review. My favorite harps to play are tremolos. And, imho, the Fanfare S is the best there is and might just ever be. Stay thirsty my friend.
It seems that since I am the very first person to actually leave a comment regarding this wonderful video here...I do feel quite honoured here!! July 1990 was a very memorial time for me here indeed!! This is the very first time that I have ever seen Dave Harris and others (Blue sky OR The 4 Schmoes) perform here down at The Inner Harbour - LIVE!! I have been a fan of Dave Harris ever since here!! Right now it is Sunday January 6th, 2019!! Happy New Year 2019 Dave Harris and to yours also here (including musician friends and NON musician friends alike here indeed)!!
Baby's back, all dressed in black, Silver buttons all down her back. High-ho your tipsy toe, She broke a needle and she can't sew. Walkin' the dog, Just a-walkin' the dog. If you don't know how to do it, I'll show you how the walk the dog. Asked your mother for fifteen cents, See the fellow he jumped the fence. Jumped so high he touched the sky, Don't get back till the fourth of July. Walkin' the dog, Just a-walkin' the dog. If you don't know how to do it, I'll show you how the walk the dog. -GUITAR SOLO- Baby's back, all dressed in black, Silver buttons all down her back.
