The Last Of Us Tribute - Gone Too Soon
What could be better? A combination of my favourite game and my favourite band. Here's a montage of The Last Of Us bits over Simple Plan's gorgeous Gone Too Soon. Had a few rendering issues but couldn't correct them, so the video is what it is, ie far from perfect. Video sources are from various generic walkthroughs; can't credit them all but thanks to everyone who has posted them. BTW, inserting black gaps was supposed to be an arty reference to the game's dark tone, but I'm not sure it works.

Yesterday I installed the Destruction Derby mod. It's packed with tracks from the original game and lots of extra ones, but it also comes with increased damage and unforgiving ragdoll physics. A mixture of shots and attempted shots on various Wreckfest ovals and circuits. A couple of funny moments too. The circuit racing section is shorter. I prefer the ovals anyway, but even though my graphics card is pretty good (GeForce 760) it still struggles with the high number of artefacts on the circuits.

Not much to say about this. I loaded up the Swaffham track and went for some follow-ins. Some worked, most didn't. This is the video. Banger racing fans like Gildo have posted far better videos with online races. I've have to make do with pesky AI who seem able to drive off almost unharmed from massive hits, but that's the way it is.

Oval Track 2's outer course is currently the longest oval in the game, so it's about time I went for a longer race - 20 laps this time. There's just the one run-through, using the trackside camera. Is this game out yet for console?
At the moment it's PC only, via Steam, but devs say it *is* coming to PS4 & Xbox One. Unfortunately no timescale yet. Can't be 100% sure, but I imagine user mods won't be available for console as there won't be anywhere to publish them, which is a shame coz I love the UK oval tracks.

You may be right. It's been a while since this was done, but I vaguely remember using beatmapping software to get there or thereabouts. We could have recorded over the original but would be relying on horrible MIDI drums - I wanted to use basic stuff in Hotstepper then bring those loops into AcidPro and overlay with proper kit samples, so it was a case of choosing a tempo and sticking with it. For our purposes it was more important to get the feel right than to be bang on with tempo; but I do remember it felt a little frantic when we used the drum backing in our 3-piece live set.
This is still better than my vids mate 😀

Just Ringwood and Swaffham as far as I know - the latter has both oval and Figure of 8 - but the creator community is pretty active and I reckon lots more will come; I love to see Hednesford.
