From Culinary Creations to Fitness Transformations: A Journey with Matteo Marra
In this latest episode of Chasing Common Ground, I sat down with Matteo Marra, a personal trainer who originally started his career in the kitchen! We talk about his switch from being a chef to running his own online fitness coaching business and all the twists and turns in between.
Here’s what you’ll hear about in the episode:
Matteo’s Culinary Background: How working long hours in a restaurant led him to rethink his health and ultimately switch careers to fitness coaching.
Transition to Online Coaching: Matteo shares how he went from training people in his garage to building a successful online coaching business with his girlfriend.
Food & Fitness: We dive into the relationship between food, culture, and fitness, and why food is so much more than just fuel.
Travel Adventures: Matteo’s stories of bike-packing through New Zealand, and how travel has impacted both of our lives in unexpected ways.
Social Media Real Talk: How we both handle those weird (and sometimes harsh) comments from people online, and how to keep things fun and positive.
Some Fun Quotes:
“Turns out, you can make a healthy turkey sandwich, even if you hate cooking!” - Matteo Marra
“You don’t need fancy stuff. It’s about real connections and meaningful experiences.” - Me (Chris Liddle)

Well, if you and the guy are roughly the same age, what did you expect? People who need their mom to set up a date are obviously "Special Needs," and with special needs people, you never know what they will do. Don't let this bother you. Please remember, if you believe you can function in the world, you're halfway there! We all are proud of you. Your mom, who knows you best, was going to let you walk unsupervised. That's a "Good for you".

This is a genuine conversation with like-minded fitness professionals. Coach Adam and Coach Chris talk about being a family man and the importance of putting your family the mainstream of life. They talk about the youth of today needing more positive role models in their life, value systems, family life, with appreciation for today, and looking for the best quality in people.

Chris Liddle gives a conversation about a way to get out of your sedentary life. He talks about the importance of low impact cost conscious walking. He brings up why it's important to move even if you have not been moving in a while or if you're feeling fine now. The effect of not moving over time. Proper macro consumption for your weight and the positive effect of eating non process foods. He suggested forming a community of people to move with. Whether in your home, out in nature, or at the gym. Start at where you're at. Make it fun.

Gretzky did it often enough during his time. The question is, can McDavid do it for two more games? If he does, Florida won't have much to say about it.

Those fools who spoke so recklessly and with such certainty and ignored the maxim that fools rush in where angels fear to tread, should be thankful they didn’t put their money where their mouths were or they would’ve already lost the farm on their foolish predictions.

Game 4 they got cocky thinking it was done. Game 5 they booed the Canadian anthem and lost. These fans don’t deserve the cup we have Oiler fans believing we have Oiler fans cheering louder then Panther fans who wants this more a team that just wants to win it to say they won it or a team that truly wants to win it and is putting all the fight into it. I think they should avoid all press conferences and concentrate on the game. It's all head games & dumbass questions in the MSM. The only reason the Oilers have managed to win and get back into this thing is because they stopped dumping the puck in the corners and got back to playing real hockey & Skinner has come through at crucial moments.
