Marta Solek is a musician who lost her mother, Maria, to COVID-19 in 2020. Marta could not say goodbye to Maria because she was in Poland, while Marta, a newcomer to Canada, could not travel due to pandemic restrictions. Marta explained how reviewing their favourite photos of her mother for the memorial aided in coping with grief.
