The Beethoven String Trio is made up of Czech musicians Pavel Hůla, primarius of the Kocian Quartet and thenof the Pražák Quartet, conductor and professor of chamber music at the Prague Academy (AMU), Josef Klusoñ and Michal Kaňka, respectively violist and cellist of the famous Pražák Quartet. After having played together for many years, they decided to formalise their joint experience. Their reference to Beethoven indicates that they concentrate resolutely on music from the 19th century up to the present day, the sole exception being their devotion to Mozart’s well-known Divertimento K. 563 and the Beethoven string trios masterworks.

リヒテルの演奏はテンポや音量の変化が多すぎるのであまり好きではない。 だが、時にそれがツボに嵌ると絶妙な表現となる。 6:53 がそれ。この曲に関しては私の最高の演奏である。

J'ai eu la chance, en tant que participant à la logistique des "Fêtes musicales de la grange de Meslay" pendant quatre saisons de suite de 1981 à 1985, de voir, d'observer et surtout d'écouter ce grand Maestro, avant et après ses prestations dans les coulisses et pendant les préparations de ses concerts, arrivée, installation, accordage et reglages de ses deux pianos Yamaha. Globalement demeure en ma mémoire que Maestro Richter était un personnage énigmatique, et sans aucun doute mystique... doué d'une puissance prodigieuse et capable de maîtriser jusqu'à l'infime détail et expression des 8 nuances. Un immense musicien-pianiste-interprète, unique, incomparable et irremplaçable. Que son âme repose en paix.

As himself, his music was dry, classic, arrogant, pretentious, and quite boring in its selfish ridiculous confidence. But, and even if I do not share at all its points of view, something is present, its Grandeur and absolute Beauty. And this a very great thing.

Richter is easily the greatest pianist to have ever lived !
Not forgetting Horowitz, Rubinstein, Arrau, Gilels, Michelangeli and indeed Rachmaninov himself. In fact there is no one greatest pianist is the World!. Each great artist is obviously unique, there by definition bringing their own individual qualities to the concert platform. Richter was of course amazing, but he did'nt have the monopoly on greatness.
Sould I venture to say that Symphony 2 sounds even better as a trio? haha!
