Being from Argentina i can tell you Villa Gesell looks nothing like this lol, Villa Gesell is a place of beaches, the place they were probably thinking about is Bariloche, wich is the place where a lot of ''pig farmers and tailors'' are rumoured to have escaped, you can say this scene is a certified ''gringo moment'', also if we consider the barman would be an actual Argentine and not German, we would never say ''cabron'', that's a mexican word, another certified ''gringo moment'' lol

As an Argentine it makes me laugh, I love the character of Magneto but God it's not that difficult, just grab a book or at that time Google search for mountainous areas and it was easy to find Patagonia or specifically Bariloche. This movie reminds me that one day I must visit the non-existent mountains of Villa Gesell

This story line should have been a movie

I think the most fascinating part of this scene is how it shows the evolution of Eric's mastery of his power. Older Magneto wouldn't bother touching the knife. He would simply use his mind. Eric also appears to struggle moving the gun in the bartender's hand. Elder Magneto would have no problem moving it instantly, or just fire it and move the bullet in flight. Eric isn't enraged enough to be at full strength, and it shows how Charles teaching him to find the balance between serenity and rage makes him far stronger than we see here.

Villa Gesell - Argentina... LOL!! Probably the biggest mistake in modern movies. Just for everyone's information Villa Gesell is a town on the coast, no mountains and no German migration there. Villa General Belgrano on the other hand is the biggest German settlement in Argentina. I guess the name didn't fit the scene so they picked the "more German" one. I remember being at the cinema and everybody laughing at the reference.
