End of the 3m50 maxi video (not a foul but I am an idiot) - see description .
Somebody pointed out to me that it looked as if the white was going in. I knew it didn't, but it was only when I went back to the original clip that I realised (with horror) that I 100% took my eyes off the table and the possibility of a foul - but luck was ever so slightly on my side, as I pushed 'stop recording' literally just after the cue ball passed the pocket.
I've zoomed and slow motioned (twice) to save my grace. Honestly, if I'd pushed 'stop' with the white still seemingly on the way I'd have had to delete the video!!!
Goodness.
Gracious.

Maximum Break - 3 mins 50 secs. 9 Foot Snooker (9 month progress)
มุมมอง 20814 วันที่ผ่านมา
9 months, 13 days and about 5 hours after the table was installed. My initial hope was 50 breaks (maybe) after about a year. So this is pretty cool, a real testament to divorce worthy tunnel vision and the sheer power of brute force repetition. I was so, so hyped on my first colour clearance when I got the table and it took bloody ages. I'm pretty sure this was at a distance past midnight so I ...
114 (ish?)/century+ line up clearance - 9 foot snooker

114ish clearance, they always get messy at the end! Still don't play often with 15 reds so tried to neaten one of these up but it always goes a bit silly if the camera is on! #billiards #lineup #pool #beginner #practice #lucky #win #clearance #first #routines #break #9x4.5 #3/4 #8ball #colours #snooker #century
6 months progress, pajama line up clearance - 9 foot snooker

A little prior to the 6 month mark of owning the table/deciding to learn how to play. I don't know if needing so many recovery shots makes it better or worse..! Lucky and horrific 119 break/clearance on 9 foot snooker table

Subjectively one of my worst breaks of all time, but objectively still a 119 clearance and I don't often practice/play with 15 reds. #snooker #billiards #lineup #pool #beginner #practice #clearance #first #routines #break #9x4.5 #3/4 #8ball #colours

I bought a 9 foot snooker table!

I recently a 9x4.5 foot snooker table to learn the game! First challenge= learn the colours. Took a little while. No technique or ability. Well done. Given me motivation to persevere on my 8ft table. Roughly how much practice have you been putting in ?
Thank you, and yeah you should! I'm blessed/cursed with tunnel vision so it's been a lot, but from a beginnner starting point. Considering sometimes I'll spend hours in there and occasionally don't have time etc... Maybe an hour a day average? Not sure. Quite a lot thought, the room is now my office as well as having darts/TV/Guitars/music/air con etc so makes sense to be in there most of the time 🙂
Well done. Funny you had the yellow and green on the wrong spots for most of the break
@@EnglishPoolandSnooker I was very tired at this point 🤣 Many thanks 🙏🙂
So somebody pointed out to me that it looked as if the white was going in, thankfully (!!) I still had the end of the clip which can be seen with zoom and slow motion here: th-cam.com/video/S_9b3InAFNA/w-d-xo.html It's also now hyperlinked at the end of the video. I'm honestly horrified that if I'd pushed 'stop recording' a milisecond earlier - literally - I'd have had to delete this. Mercifully, I push stop *just* after the cue ball has rolled past the pocket. Unbelievable. 😬
Well played, boet!! You have done the Dull Men's Club proud! Really good positional play, especially on those final few reds.
Whoever you are Xenny - you are one of the good ones 🙂
@@Davidtavernor I'm a fellow Dull Men's Club member, also a snooker player who never in my wildest dreams have come close to your achievement! Highest break ever was 49 on a 12-footer, and that was a good twenty years ago. Well done again, buddy!
@@Xenny_Brown You have honestly made my day, my friend. And a 49 is nothing to be sniffed at!!! Although my heart bleeds for you if missing the half century was wounding.
Well done, excellent “Dull” achievement 😉
You are a star, and I'm sure very dull too 🙂
Well played mate 👍
Well done ....nervy hand shakes b4 the final black..😊
Haha, not half. I daydreamed about hitting a 50 withing 6 months initially, so getting this was kinda mind blowing within a couple of months. Funny what a few hours every day can do for your game 😅
@@Davidtavernor yep ..practice ..practice ..practice ...results follow .
Lovely clearance
Many thanks 🙏 Check back soon and hopefully a 10 red maxi..!
@@Davidtavernor good luck with it.. .take some doing in fairness....but u got to the blue last time so it's doable...😎
@@tommycanavan8285 exactly, it means with brute force repetition... It's possible. Cannot begin to explain the terror when potting the final black for position. I suspect I'll have to go through a lot of pain and probably a missed pink before joy!
@@Davidtavernor but will be worth the buzz mate ...bring it on....apologies for disturbing ur practice there...back to it..enjoy 😊😊😊😊😊
Been toying between a 9 and 10 foot. Do you find the reds are cramped if you use the full 15? Cheers.
Not really! A few normally break away as in full sized, pick 'em off.... Then smash the pack. It's possible to get congested of course, but never by more than a few balls. Always the option of playing 10 reds too - it's all good!
Looking at buying one myself, out of interest, what size is your garage?
Do it..! So much fun. Garage is circa 19x19 foot I think 🙂
@@Davidtavernor did you think of trying to squeeze a full size table in? Only straight shots of a cushion might require a smaller cue
@@866562 Yeah, naturally I did but I'm pleased I didn't! There are two spots where it's possible to be a tiny bit hampered. Behind the yellow corner (till I remove the cupboard) and very occasionally by the buttress cueing straight across the table if the cue ball is directly on the cushion (and using a 59 inch cue 😅) I mention that is I hate playing from those spots. If I had to do it 10x as often it would kill the enjoyment. My advice would be that if you can't get 5 foot around 90% of the table... You probably need a smaller table.
@@Davidtavernor probably will go with 3/4 or 10x5ft, would love a full size but I think it would be too tight. Got to get the garage converted first. Thanks for your insight.
@@866562 I'd love one too, but in a weird twist (other than rose tinted bias) I may love having a 3/4 more. It's just so much more accessible and less intimidating for family and friends, as well as being big enough to play 'proper' snooker with fellow enthusiasts. I play with my wife most nights, 100% wouldn't happen on a 12 foot. It's a lot of fun, you really can't go wrong. I've got a friend with a 12 foot, he enjoys playing at mine more. Good luck with the conversion, I did mine at lightspeed after injuring my knee and deciding to get a table. Hanging a ceiling was the biggest job.
What's the name of your table?
Not sure, it had a Keith Davis plaque on though (Steve Davis' brother)
Nice man! What size shed is this?
It was a double garage a few months ago, about 19 foot long, 18 wide I think. I thought It'd be more of a squeeze with a 9 foot table than it is - kinda perfect it turns out!
What size are the balls? 2 1/16 inches?
Yeah, regular full size. I think it's 8 foot and under where they drop down to 2" (normally).
@@Davidtavernor Thanks for reply and by the way, beautiful clearance!
No problemo and thank you! Literally my first ever, but I've not had a table for long. Will probs try a 15 red clearance next, or maybe the tough table... Fun times :) @@parnt94
Balls size?
2 1/16, full size 👍 I think it's 8 foot and below that drop down (usually) to 2".
What cloth is?
@@robertpuscas 6811 Gold Tournament (30oz)
Looks lovely ,,nice bounce of cushions ,fast cloth...any breaks yet ..
May I ask price also ..might consider buying one ...did they fit it etc ..I presume so ....
Who produced your snooker table?
I'm not certain, it I think it says Fred Davis on the plaque but I bought it from a company who reconditions them rather than new ☺
