Rebuilding of a Left Hand Bosch DU 4/2. Magneto was completely disassembled, new coil and condenser installed and put back together. Was also tested at various RPM's. Sorry for video quality. Due to frame rate it does not catch every spark in the contacts during the video. The mag never missis a fire. This mag would fit many different brands of tractors. In this setup we need a counter clock wi...

Love it
Tell us about the riveted machine . Is it an old original machine from pre WW2 or is it a custom in shop riveter , it looks old. Where do people get these machines.
This engine needs to be brought back to Iowa for the 2023 old threshers show we already have two other Wood brother locomotives
I just love seeing the old things still kept up and running!! Thanks!
it was necessary to mount the camera better and “elsewhere” 😁
Great Work... Next time someone complains about meetings or phone calls in the office, send them this video of these guys doing REAL work ! :-)
Thank you. James.
wow.... show us how they used to do it before those air tools had been invented! this job would have taken longer, and it would have taken at least two(?) more people, all moving with a purpose I'd bet!
Incredible.
great insight in the proces of riveting boilers , and yes keeping the pressure on a wee longer results in better curing . the blast wave is impressive
Easy to see that the sawyer had cut a log or a thousand !
What engine is the boiler for?
16hp Advance
Well looks cool, probably makes a good strong connection, looks like it takes a long ass fuckin time though , especially if they had to do this in the like mid 1800ds, which they did , must have been grueling. Like how they used to have to drill mines by hand one hammer swing at a time. With a shitty drill bit. Without lights , or breathing protection.
Looks like great fun to me! I wonder what the tractor puts out for torque....likely off the charts!
Damm a few Karen's in the Comment section. Some guys riveting FFS
God that is probably unreasonably loud.
well. that was riveting. pardon the pun .
Cool!
too cool
Hot damn that engine must have a Sam Myers governor on it😎😎😎
Spray fommed shop. Living in luxury.
No ear defenders for the good ole boys?
This video was so "riveting" to watch!
Sweet
Beats a pop riverter

I enjoyed your video. I've never used a vertical lathe, but always thought that they were fascinating. Looks like you guys are serious about working on the old stuff. My local club is more interested in setting up some antique shit, running on belts and trying to make it look old. It kinda pisses me off. There are a number of machine tools in storage on the grounds, all pushed together into an unusable mess. It's like, just because these old fucks don't know how to use them, how would anyone else.
Need details on that contraption!
Hanna air rivet squeeze
Interesting, I just wonder why they had to place the camera on the work piece?
My apologies I am not a professional
That’s bad ass
thats the way you do it. song "money for nothing." built this country.
Well haven't we blessed our people with nuts and bolts. The amount of time saved with them vs riveting is astronomical.
plus you can easily remove them
@@Videoswithsoarinriveting is a superior joint, victorian engineering was ahead of what you know
These guys should be on Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe. How interesting.
just like fred flintstone!!
Very satisfying to watch the rivet being squished. I only use 3/16 copper, and 1.8 soft iron rivets ( cold ).
always wanted one of these machines, gonna have to shine up my pennies real good to afford one though
True that there’s one of these at a tractor museum I go to in California it’s badass
Keep hands well CLEAR of this beast!!
Show us the backup tooling side
So is there any particular reason you hold it in the squeezed position so long or does it just work out that way?
I'd say letting the rivet cool below the plastic stage.
letting the rivet cool a bit
Thanks for putting the camera on the boiler..... NOT.
Very impressive!
Don't get your finger caught in that
ur camera is not at right position.
Is that riveting press ‘Air over Hydraulics’ ?
That would be ideal for cracking macadamia nuts
That's impressive ..excellent equipment just don't make them like this country use to..A crying shame 😢 Thanks for keeping this alive
I was cutting rivets out of my pickup truck last week. Pretty sure this was the tool that put them in.
🤣🤣
I can honestly say this is boring
Holy smoke, that is one heck of a violent machine. Oi. I worked with a handheld rivet hammer and thought that was something. Super cool.
