Last Day of Summer Bogwalk!
มุมมอง 222 ปีที่แล้ว
For the boys last day of summer we wanted to do something free, fun and simple. So we went to the Bangor City Forest to do the Orono Bog Walk. A nice little trek through the woods (on a deck) that loops around an old bog in Orono. It’s all maintained by the University of Maine and they do a real nice job on it. It was great for Jess who has some back issues because it’s so low impact. She says ...
How to Clip Turkey Flight Feathers!
มุมมอง 2.1K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Today we clip the turkeys flight feathers so they stop flying over the fence to potentially get eaten (prematurely). Also we add some cayenne pepper to their food. Cayenne acts as an antiviral for poultry. It staves off a lot of bad stuff like black head in turkeys and some other undesirable digestive and liver issues. The Bees Nest Removal
มุมมอง 892 ปีที่แล้ว
A male nurse takes care of a bees nest and it goes about as well as you would expect. Did I mention I’m deathly afraid of bees?! I hated every minute of this. The fear was real. I did not see it turning out the way it did. I genuinely thought I had a rock solid plan. Also Nora decided to learn how to ride her bike without training wheels! Please like and subscribe if you want to encourage this ...
Gardening with Nora! (feat. Gobbling Turkeys!)
มุมมอง 682 ปีที่แล้ว
Today we tend our MIRACLE GARDEN! Given how much time and work it’s been to get the turkeys going, we really haven’t devoted a lot of energy to our garden. But, miraculously, it’s been doing great! Today I have my smallest helper throwing eggshells from our chickens in the garden beds to deter the slugs and deer. After we messed around in the garden, we fed the turkeys some lettuce that was rea...
The Turkeys Get a Fence!
มุมมอง 762 ปีที่แล้ว
Today the turkeys get a fence! It took a couple of days because I was on call but it got done. They seemed to be very happy about it. The kids had a good time trying to herd them back into the shed at the end of the day. If you like what you’re seeing on the channel, like and subscribe so you don’t miss a video! Thanks!
The Turkeys Move Into Their New Home!
มุมมอง 782 ปีที่แล้ว
We move the turkeys from the brooder box in the garage to the shed. Had to spruce up the place a little bit before it was ready but it paid off because they seemed to be a lot happier! They’re only a little over a month and they’re already a LOT bigger than I was expecting so this was a “have to” situation. From here we have to build a fence off of the shed so that they have an outdoor area to ...
A Day in The Life……doing chores.
มุมมอง 812 ปีที่แล้ว
My day off turned into getting some work done around the yard. Never a dull moment when it involves the kids, Teddy, and some poultry!
Hey guys!!! I’m sick of “how to” videos.
มุมมอง 582 ปีที่แล้ว
Really tired of the “how to” videos where they make it look sooooooo easy, so I figured I’d make my own. I even put the obligatory “hey guys!” with overly excited presenter at the beginning. Perhaps the avocado wasn’t ripe…..
Karaoke Morning with Nora!
มุมมอง 262 ปีที่แล้ว
Sorry for not uploading in a while…..take it away Nora!
Our birds all adapted when we did both wings and started flying within a week 🤦 So, when they molted, we only clipped one side and didn't have that problem. Hopefully you didn't have the same issue! God bless from Texas
I noticed you said to only clip 1 wing, but you did both. I've heard 1 because it makes them too off balance to fly. How did that work out for clipping both? Also, do you know at what age the blood recedes back into the wing from those flight feathers? Thanks, Dennis
Find it necessary to do both wings instead of one like on chickens?
You can do either/or. I did half with just one with and half with both, didn’t really see a difference.
So funny and cute! Love !
I’m in Somersworth NH . We must be neighbors . I love your videos. I have milk goats, beloved chickens, one Pekin duck, and wild turkeys and deer visit us. Happy new year
Hey there! We actually just got a few more chicks a couple weeks ago. If you like our videos I guess I should try making more! This was just kind of an experiment to see if I could make something people liked lol.
Love the video
Love it. My garage needs that. The wood wants to roll down into my walk space
It was a pretty simple fix. I put the wood up on four pallets and then just screwed the other pallets into them. My son had the idea of bolstering the front pallets with 2x4s we had laying around from another project. It all worked out!
@@mainelymadagain9405 that’s why I admire men. It’s a simple fix, I know. But for me, and old lady, it’s rocket science. 🤣🤣🤣👵🏻 I know just enough to be dangerous. And I love using my dewalt drill.
Cranberry cold on the side would probably be good instead.
Its been a while
Nice one, keep ‘em coming ! Should do a funny short of them running into the house with you lol
Done!
Fearless Nora, not surprised
She clearly doesn’t get it from her father.
You still take call? Sounds exhausting
Good work! Keep at it brother.
Look good! Evan in the mirror is funny.
Looks fun miss you Evan! :))
I love how Evan was just following you around with a phone
You guys look happy! So happy for you!
It looks like you have lived there for years. Good work guys!
Looks nice. You guys have gotten a lot done in a short time
We want a house tour!!! Haha! How has the move been?

I love this! A little suggestion- buy a good fishnet and attach it to a long handle for chicken round up.we have done that for years. My brother has an orchard in New Sharon! Your place looks awesome!
Thanks for the advice Lisa! Should definitely invest in that, especially considering we may be doing turkeys in the spring!
I'd get paint protection film for the salt so it don't ruin your paint
Also for the car I would put a pan or something to catch thr liquid
Yo this is so dope this looks so fun I wish I could be with my best friend again soon and I hope you guys continue to enjoy it their and have fun tell Evan I said hey and miss him I'll be watching this everytime a new vid comes out
Thanks man I miss you too hopefully I’ll be down soon and we can hang
As a youtuber, this video is kind of haunting for a few reasons; •The video is in square view, meaning you dont see the full picture of everything around. If you can, please do change this to 16:9 to display (and if you are filming on your phone, please never have your camera vertical) •The video is mostly just you walking around and talking, which I don’t really reccomend because there really isnt any eye-candy for tbe viewer. •As your channel grows, get a drone for cool droneshots of maine and if your going somewhere (with permission) you can film it there
Thanks for the constructive criticism! We are very new to the game as far as all of this goes. If we decide to grow the channel more we will likely invest in some better equipment.
