Nine Inch Nails - We're In This Together | Cover by Bloodmeridian
Since 1989 I've been a huge fan of Trent Reznor, from his powerful and expansive body of work with Nine Inch Nails to his recent award-winning film scores. The album The Fragile remains, to me, one of his crowning achievements, and among its strongest tracks is We're In This Together, a track that embodies Reznor's genius at taking eerie, edgy, off-kilter and sinister elements and crafting them into a catchy and accessible song that feels lean even though it clocks in at over seven minutes.
I haven't strayed too far from the original arrangement because I feel that when you're covering a song, unless you're completely reinventing it, if you stray too far from the blueprint you risk losing some of what makes it work. Either way, when you're dealing with Nine Inch Nails, it's very difficult to imagine what could make it any better than it is.
I hope you enjoy this video.

This video is clearly AI! Everyone knows that sensible, well thought out, balanced arguments from people who seem completely reasonable don’t really exist!especially online! 😂 Only came across this today! As a guitar maker who happens to specialise in relics you would not believe the abuse i get from these so called gatekeepers! I couldn’t have put this argument any better myself!
Even Epiphone is expensive now.
I love my original Hot Rod 40 watt. It does everything that I want it to. I use 2 overdrives and a delay. Sometimes, I'll use a volume pedal.
That strat sounds so damn good!
It’s Jan 2025, I just for the first time ordered my first Chibson. I can’t believe I ordered 2 on day 1. One got cancelled the next day accidentally. I received a Full Refund. The other, I cancelled before it got shipped because of a discrepancy in the Item Description, also I got a full refund. There are still 4 orders awaiting shipment. So, for me, because of its low or cheap price, these were purchases made on impulse despite the fact that I have not even held one in person. This experience has already messed me up. This is not how I do things. I guess, it was meant to be that I stumbled upon your video. I definitely learned something.
i love the song damn is so goooddd good work bro
I don’t much care either way, whatever suits you & makes you happy is ok, nobody else’s business. However I do know that old vintage 50’s & 60’s Mint condition guitars fetch much more than gigged & player grade ones, unless the owner’s a well known megastar. So does Relicing cost you more, & devalue your guitar?
That Marshall sounds fantastic like that great tone
First off, I never buy used equipment, secondly, if available, I always buy a long term reasonable warranty, that cover the equipment once the factory warrant runs out.!! In your case, I have no sympathy, for your situation..."Any time" you buy a used product, no matter what it is, your chances of having troubles are doubled or tripled! you should have bought the new model, and then you would have nothing to complain about..!!
I mean, that's definitely an interesting take. Of course you're entitled to spend your money however you like, but I would say that while I did get hosed on this one, the tens of thousands I've saved in my life by not buying new and not getting extended warranties, for used products that were as good as new and never had any issues, outweigh by orders of magnitude the loss I took here. That's before getting into any question of sustainability. But I gotta ask, have you never bought a used car? How about guitars, you ever bought one of those used?
It's ridiculous and embarrassing!! All Americans are seriously getting ripped off by a piece of wood and a little metal!!!! People are waking up and all these brands are losing to the wayside. The process has already begun.
I prefer the Hot Rod DeVille.
Very well put Rant Max 🙂 I came here to be warned about the Ibanez RG721RW, but ending up buying one second hand just after this video. - And hell yeah: I totally agree with you on that statement about career choices. Tnx - KK from Norway
love my Charvel DC-1 with its active EMGs but also love my EVH with its inactive dual EVH humbuckers. Only thing i hate is guitars with only single coils that just doesn’t do it for me. Humbuckers all the way
I have a 1970s Arnold Hoyer Dreadnought acoustic. It's not expensive but it's beat and worn in hard. It's my most prized instrument in my collection. I'm all for aging guitars as they just become far more comfortable.
no, wooden guitars are lighter and less cumbersome.
I'd say over 75% of the "Chibson" haters are people who spent literal thousands on their "authentic" Gibson," and along come the Gibson replicas, with craftsmanship rivaling even Epiphone, and the only caveat is the electronics and hardware is subpar. Now, electronics and hardware can easily be replaced, and it's the mere fact that these replicas cost 1/3 the price of an Epiphone, is what has got all the Gibson fanboy's panties in a bunch. Nobody is TRYING to pass them off as authentic, and for those who try, shame on you, but I think all the Gibson fanboys just need to relax and let people enjoy what they want. I had a '78 Gibson SG that was stolen from me years ago. Now, if I want the semblance of owning a beloved guitar from my past without having to sell all my internal organs to do so, how the hell is that hurting anyone? Just give it a rest, yes?
Eddie van Halen would have fixed that pedal himself
Yeah man, you sound great and I love your musical taste and composition! I got a 7 jackson dinky and I love it's sound; I wish it had better sustain though; I plan on getting a Orange 35rt amp and I use a RAT pedal for distortion! What would you suggest, should I use the reverb setting on the amp or is there a better way to get the most sustain out those passive pickups?
Technically the "butterscotch blonde" color finish of telecasters is a relic finish. No original telecaster came in that color... it was a color designed to replicate the aged yellowed color of old "blonde" color guitars used on the 52 reissues and subsequent guitars like the classic vibe Squires.
Gibson can go stuff themselves.
quit cussing
This pleasure is only for selected group
Buy gloves. Buy boots. Insert tacks through knuckles facing outwards. Beat the shit out of guitar. Charge more for it. I love the sheer audacity of the salesmen and marketing teams who pulled this off.
Did your Jem555 come to you like that or has it been modded? Apart from the pups being Blue, they're not the stock Dimarzio Evo's - as Evo's have hex pole pieces. Yours don't - with standard slugs on one coil and screw poles on the other.
Man, are your control mobs all set at max? Please understand all amps and guitars take a level of nuance
LMAO, bullshit, Lol ferraris are hand built and a toyota will outlast them, Lol.
The other reason, the kids are not playing Gibsons any more, they are playing Fender single coils. You have not represented this . . .hmmmmm
I bought a Timeline a couple days ago to replace a TCE Triple Delay. I will probably use it mostly as a stomp box delay as you said. I've noticed a couple of "flaws" with it right away. For example, there are no trails when switching from A to B (or B to A) which causes an abrupt stop until you hit a new chord. Also, with the TCE, I could engage three delays at once. With the Timeline, it's either A or B in each bank so one at a time. The Dual Delay setting will work but it's not intuitive like the you said. If there are ways to edit both of these, please let me know. Lastly, the "Time" knob is very touchy and it is very difficult to dial in a specific BPM. That all said, it sounds amazing and it's way smaller than the TCE.
Try the one with the Red Wizard speakers
I got a Martin streetmaster series because the sound blew me away and the tonewoods were great. It only comes in relic’ed finish 😔
"Tonewoods" of an electric guitar lmao
I think it's stupid that I can't afford a new Fender Custom Shop Heavy Relic 50's Reissue Stratocaster. $15,000 😂
Paul Reed Smith said it best, his guitars aren’t overpriced we just don’t want it bad enough 🫤 I can afford it ! I just want it bad enough !
You can’t tell one from another with all the cacophony
“Felt too new” A player only “feels” the neck, fretboard and knobs, thus relicking the body has nothing to do with the players experience.
That's not even true while playing, let alone in general.
@@MaxRossell Let me say I loved your video. I was kinda mocking Keith Richards. A player's hands only touch two things (if we don't count the strings which don't get relic'ed) the neck and the knobs. Relic'ing the body has no effect on the sound or playability of the guitar. I'm a fan of relic'ed guitars, but Keith Richards (or anyone else) can think that a battered body and faded paint can change the feel - they can think that - but it's all rather silly.
@@viper2148Like Mayer lecturing people about "Tonewoods" in Electric Guitars, or the "warm" tone of an all Valve amp.... Being ran through a P.A and mixer with 8 pedals in it. Many great, famous guitarists have no idea what they're talking about.
I love this pedal and the smaller v2 one also!
Terrible sampling of the more drive pedal . The Guys guitar was way out of tune. Unless he was playing weird chords.
Great job sir and i really appreciate ur honesty, if only I could believe that ur not a Hype Guy😉😎
And there’s plenty of people with 15-20 “junk” guitars accumulated over time when they could’ve just saved up and spent that money on one of these instead of complaining about what Gibson is charging.
With the LP it sounds great, well balanced and not boomy so it can cut through the mix for live gigs. I hear that the ML 2x12 model is superior but I've no experience with that model.
I thought he was Keanu Reeves
The TIMELINE does sound great. Is there a pedal out there like the Boss DD7 that has a digital / programmable readout ? So you can know exactly what "timing" you are dialing in. Or should I just mark my DD7 with a Sharpie dot for my most important "timing"? Thoughts ? thx
Sick af
It said “vintage original sheen” when I bought mine 🤷🏼♂️
I'd argue that your rock gain tone sounded average because your guitar was slightly out of tune or not intonated that well, and your playing was a just a little bit sloppy as well. At 10:26 you're playing quite well and presto! - the amp sounds good all of a sudden. Funny that lol.
I’ve had one for years and I love it. I use the clean channel with pedals exclusively.
Tom ran this company into the ground. Sad.
Pafs? Nope. Single coils. It's a fender
Congrats on being the gazillionth person to make the frankly ridiculous assertion that Fender amps require single coils to sound good. I take it you've never heard anyone play a Les Paul through a Bassman or a Princeton or a Deluxe Reverb or a Vibrolux or a Bandmaster or a Super Reverb or... I could go on.
Search TH-cam for 'Hot Rod Deluxe x tone' )x being blues, funk or whatever) and you get nothing back but videos about how to tame it, how to mod it, is it really that bad and so on. No videos showcasing juicy tone. Concerning.
If someone gave me a relic I’d pay good money to restore it 😂😂😂
I used to be anti-relic but I've come around to the idea and have learned to appreciate the art form of creating a believable relic. Heck you might even find old video comments from me griping about them. I've heard and used the argument myself of just playing your gear for 30 years to achieve that look and feel. Well, I'm an an enthusiast weekend warrior musician like most and in my 50s now. Buying a modern poly finish guitar and playing every day until my hands fall off will never achieve a classic look and feel of a vintage nitro finished instrument. So just buy a vintage instrument? Well I don't have $15k+ just lying around to drop on a properly worn in pre-CBS Strat, Tele, P Bass, etc. Plus with an investment like that I probably wouldn't even want to play it out anywhere. So what does that leave? Relic reproductions. That's really the only option for an amateur musician at my age without gobs of disposable income to get an instrument like that. Over the years I've become pretty adept at assembling and setting up guitars and basses. I've dabbled in relicing as well, mostly hardware. MJT, Guitar Mill, Bloomdoom, etc make some pretty cool relic reproductions of classic Fender bodies at a reasonable price. Far cheaper than buying a Custom Shop instrument as well. To me it's a good honest way for the working musician to have a vintage style instrument at a fraction of the price. So yeah, count me as a relic convert I guess. For the naysayers, worry about your own shit. Don't touch it so it never gets a scratch, God forbid. Or else, play the Hell out of your plastic covered modern Ibanez RG series guitar until you achieve that look I guess. Different strokes for different folks. Let people enjoy what they like.
