It's high summer where I am and I'm buried under a ton of plums. I'm currently experimenting with making plum vinegar so my kitchen is a bit of a lab right now. I've also made plum jam, plum sauce, plum ice cream, and a couple of plum cakes. Do you have any plum ideas for me?

Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders. I know this because our house is divided lol. Chargers for my son and husband. Raiders for me and my daughter. However we are rooting for the Eagles in Superbowl. ❤

I will be baking sweet and savory items for our annual super bake sale at church. ❤

I love how organized you are. I always just wing it. I keep veggies chopped in my freezer and usually just make soup. But, today I'm planning on making spaghetti squash with meat sauce inspired by your spaghetti video.

I don’t watch football, however, the Super Bowl is a great excuse to have Sunday Finger Foods 😂…..have a great day….

I am so happy, found Red Grapefruit at Food Lion yesterday!! One of my favorite citrus. They may have been stocking them earlier, but i only noticed yesterday. As for Super Bowl, Don and I are KC Chief fans! We will be wearing our Chief shirts, and just enjoying the game.

I love planning my weekly meals and enjoy seeing what others are planning as well. Mushroom swiss burgers with tater tots and raw veggies tonight. Prob not on the grill since it's -5* :-) Also I agree with your Superbowl Sunday 'celebration'. It's not that we celebrate the teams, it's the getting together for a good time that makes it fun.

The dinners would never fill me up. If it was Marie Callendar's, I would have bought them all! Those are too skinny, like Lean Cuisine. It is not a caloric deficit if you have to eat 2 pieces of bread per dinner, lol! I don't celebrate Super Bowl Sunday. I do love some good chicken wings!

Gina that was an interesting walk through American groceries. There wasn't one thing there that we get here though. I'd be a bit suspicious of those processed , packaged meals, and Gatorade is horrendously high in sugar so I'd stear clear of that unless you are an athlete engaged in high intensity sports in a hot climate. I'm such an ignoramus from the southern hemisphere I had to Google what the Super Bowl was.🤣

You got some great deals, although I don't buy boxed foods. I usually make my own pizzas and main meal dishes. At my house we don't participate in super bowl events. But I do agree that prices are going up and it's not easy getting enough groceries.

Phil saw his shadow……6 more weeks of winter…..I live about 50 miles from Phil…..it’s a very big deal….this year there was a band from central NJ that played, even our governor was there…..Phil has a personal handler and he really does get royal treatment….PETA needs not freak out…..I’ve been there and it’s a real cold, crazy, but fun time! Great prices on your groceries….your granddaughter will be so happy….thanks for sharing…

Wow, you got great deals! Love all the different products you bought. You are so right about buying products like frozen dinners--definily a great option in a pinch. And, much cheaper than fast food. Don and I will be watching the Super Bowl. We will probably get chips and dip. 🏈🏈🏈

I love personal finance. You're doing a good job! The only thing that surprised me was when you said "if your husband passes away they kind of freeze things." That is not the case when the money is in BOTH your names. If you are the joint owner of all your assets (and you should be) all your money is available to you always, regardless of spouse's death. 💙 💗 🤎 🖤

I’ve tried separating groceries from personal household, it got complicated, so I decided to lump them together….it was a nightmare at the register trying to keep them separated……do you pay each of those categories separately? Thanks….

I admire you for sharing this with us. My husband and I also live on one income. I run a nonprofit, but don't get a paycheck from it, and we live on 30K less a year than the median income in our state. We own both of our cars, which are both 19 years old and we own our home outright, but we have a HELOC. We have zero credit card debt and we pay off anything we do put on a card every month. The only debt we have is caused by medical issues, dental and being taxed through the nose when my husband owned his own company. We got taxed on both ends, so there's that. I think the average consumer credit card debt is something like 7200.00 which I find astounding. I can't understand how people feel good about buying a load of junk and making themselves go into debt. We also have two elderly pets we take care of and I feed birds and squirrels. Being a good steward of what God blesses you with is a great testimony. :). OH and we're not old enough yet to be on Medicare. :)

Do you have health insurance to take up your pharmacy cost? I think you were saying salbutamol ( Ventolin?). That's a lot of money for that. Your property rates are insane. I think your groceries are much cheaper than NZ .

There are so many useful tools on line you could use to track your budget rather than hand writing it.

I grew up eating tuna casserole on a regular basis. Haven’t had it in a long time. Now I want to make some. You are right, it is a comfort food. I feel comforted just thinking of all the happy memories of eating dinner as a family when I was a child.
