    Very helpful video but the one improvement I'd suggest is this. At the bottom of the black left hand knee pad in front of the rider is a Phillips screw. Undo that and pull the knee pad off, there are a couple of fuses in a holder in here but also enough room to place an AA battery holder, and a hole through which the wires will pass. It would just keep it a bit neater and less intrusive.

    Greetings . First of all congratulations for the channel !!! EXCELLENT !!! your work the one you are doing, I have an Onkyo Digital A-8800 with all the modules of the equipment are Onkyo which are an M504 amplifier sound, with an EQ540 Interga equalizer and another EQ-201 and another EQ-25 and another EQ-140 and one TA-2550 Interga and one TA-2750 Interga and one TA-205 Interga deck and another double deck TA-RW 909 . a CP1500F Interga platter and Ortofon 40 turntable needle and CD DX-708 Interga, and the T-4500 Interga radio, All the models are from the Onkyo brand, which is the best that Onkyo does NOT make mass production if they are not selected from the Onkyo And the cables connected to the equipment are of the KabelDirekt Pro Series RCA brand and 4 DAS R-212 Speakers. and 2 Mivoc hype 10 g2 hifi subwoofers, 300 w, from 20 to 180 hz. IN THE END A CLASSIC OF THE 80S AND 90S of sound equipment of that time, over the years I have never broken any module, that is already seen from how they worked before and the manufacturing materials, I hope to have it duarte, many years for the quality of a good musical team, greetings and very good videos that you have a great like for your great videos, great sound models like these devices are no longer manufactured, it is a pity, that nowadays everything is plastic, greetings from Barcelona - You could do one of Onkyo Interga also of Review - Congratulations to all Onkyo electronics, the Inegra Series was a true excellence. I bring you bad news, for this glorious brand, which made hifi history, these days, Sharp, who recently acquired the brand, announced that the debt is incurable. The electronic audio equipment company Onkyo has filed for bankruptcy, after accumulating debts of US$24 million. Onkyo, founded in Osaka in 1946 under the name "Osaka Denky Onkyo K.K", has failed to position its mainly analog equipment in the streaming era, consequently Onkyo has been declared bankrupt by the Onkyo company. Even if the electronics produced today had nothing to do with the wonderful electronics that it has... A big greeting from Barcelona, Spain,

    Hi, Hi-Vintage, I am new to all this and I'm hoping you or anyone in the comment section can help me. I actually have two old speakers that instead of having some kind of terminal they have speaker wire running out the back of them. I want to retrofit a terminal on them so as to achieve a better connection. I know what kind of terminal I'll be needing. I know that I'll need to solder the speaker +/- to the terminal. What in your opinion would be the best way to do this? I quite like the method you used to connect the replacement terminal to the receiver as it was very clean. What would you call the tips you added to the wires to connect to the terminal plugs?

    An enjoyable repair to watch. And liked. Thanks for no music loops. I'm looking to do something like this on a Yamaha RPU100 receiver. But before cutting any wires I'd want to clip some speaker leads up ahead of the terminals directly to see if that is the problem. In testing this unit after not using it for some time I've switched around everything I think of outside the case. Have not opened the case yet.

    The speaker terminals on my receiver (Hitachi SR-604) just manage to hold the ten gauge pure copper wire I'm using but alas my hi gain input terminals on my 12" monolith subwoofer would not and I broke the spring connectors on two of them trying to get the wire to fit. I'm going to attempt doing this to the subwoofer so that I may use them as binding posts. (I connect the subwoofer to the "B" speaker outputs of my receiver to the high gain inputs on the subwoofer and it works great)

    If I may ask, why did you replace these caps in the first place? I am asking because I have an old sony speakers suffering distortion at high volume (one of the 2). Could the caps be the problem? 🤔 The speaker looks intact including the rubber parts..

    • @yvesboutin5604
      @yvesboutin5604 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I may answer on behalf of Hi-vintage: Capacitors we call electrolytic have inside a liquid electrolyte which evaporate overtime. That gives them a life span of around 20 years, depending on power usage and number of hours. Even if they weren't use for years, they still degrade. This is also true for any electronic devices but particularly if a lot of current flows through them. As for your Sonys speakers it may be the capacitor but it may also be one of the drivers been overdriven which can difform the suspension and voice coil . You will have to open them and test them individualy to verify if that is the case.

      @@yvesboutin5604 Thank you very much for replying. I did indeed open them both and the caps tested 2.36uF on the bad one and 2.2uF on the good. They have ELNA caps rated 2.2uF Not an expert on electronics so I don't know if the the value affects performance on the bad one. However I found out which frequency distorts and I raised the volume a bit while playing that frequency and the speaker went from bad to clear in a matter of seconds! No explanation why that happened since I don't understand the basics here but I am really glad it works as good as the good one! I should make a video of them both as I love how they sound now with a new amp. Thank you and I appreciate the effort and time you took to reply 🤗

    • @yvesboutin5604
      @yvesboutin5604 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hippohoppa There is also the possibility of a loose wire or a defect in the gluing of the cabinet that make it resonate, but I still suspect this could be a driver problem. Concerning the capacitors, you can change for Mylar or polypropylene also named 'polycap' at a reasonable cost. At the same time, you can check if there is enough damping material like foam or 'polyfill'. If there is not enough, sound balance could be more midrangy and there might be too much chestiness in male voices. Don't be afraid to try many options by changing only one speaker and checking them side by side to see which one sound best. This could be a fun project and a learning experience. Bye!

    Ladies and gentlemen I'm a tell you a very easy way to remember this look on the back of the unit you will see one of the red that want to be black nine times out of 10 red is positive black is negative so when you open up the case find out which wire's are going to the red those will be positive the other Wireless of B- take a piece of painters tape wrapped around it and Mark on the painters tape positive other wires but the painters tape on it Market negative very easy to you'll never forget you'll never get mixed up easy as pie he's getting a little ahead of himself he needs to slow down and think you should have thought of that before we made the video but that's neither Haven there let's give him a chance
