Guide to PCC competition Gear
Shooting competitions are not only fun, but also introduce an environment where you can safely practice all the fundamentals of gun handling and shooting and hone in skills that could potentially save your life.
USPSA's PCC division has grown very fast, due to the additional firearm control when compared to pistols that allows you to have better accuracy, and has sparked over the last few years a boom in manufacturer offerings of 9mm carbines and other pistol caliber rifle offerings.
Competing with a PCC does require some additional items pistol divisions don't have.
Here is a list of the things I showed in the video.

Every time you get a new firearm, the very first thing you should do is read the manual from cover to cover, then give it its first cleaning according to the manual's recommendations. Why you shoot low and to the left
มุมมอง 1894 หลายเดือนก่อน
If you've done this or have seen people that do this, most likely the cause of shooting low and to the left (for right handed shooters) is what people call "anticipation" but in reality, it is a user's effort to prevent the muzzle rise on recoil by trying to perfectly match the rearward movement of the slide with an equal amount of forward move of the pistol. The problem is that the pistol only...

I tried it because it was at such a good price. This is some very good ammo, I love this stuff. If you have a gun that's finiky, try this , the casing is so slik, and it's clean. I've got around 1500 rounds. I guess that's enough. Hmmm

Ganna put some loctite on mine
@NA-nc5dg I wouldn't recommend it, but if you do, don't use red loctite. An alternative is to get small o-rings to act as vibration cushions and minimize the issue.
Does this happen with all Henry's? I have 3 Henry's in .22, .357 and .30-30. How often do you have to tighten that screw?
To answer your question, I believe yes, all lever action rifles from Henry, Marlin, or Winchester will have something like this happen. Machine screws need to be tightened after initial insertion because the threads on the screw and the tapped hole in the material loosen over time due to vibration or movement. Especially since they're not supposed to have thread locking compounds. The rifles were never designed for very long shooting sessions like we do nowadays. Ammo was not as abundant back in late 1800, so that was not a huge concern back then.
@@a2ztacticalacademy ok, my Henry .22 doesn't have that screw but the others do. I've put a fair amount of rounds through the .357, but the screw has not come loose yet. I've put close to 40 rounds through the .30-30, haven't seen it yet, but thanks for the heads up, it's good to know.
@@a2ztacticalacademyOk, my Henry .22 doesn't have that screw but the others do. I have put quite a few rounds through the .357, but the screw hasn't loosened yet. I've only put close to 40 rounds through the .30-30, hasn't happened yet, but thanks for the heads up, it's good to know.
Thank you. You sold me. Deutschland uber alles!
it is an excellent pistol. Thank you for your comment.
Good reholstering tips for us all, but unfortunately the issue with the P320 is a fundamentally bad design, and not related to reholstering.
True. However safe re-holstering should always be followed regardless of brand, and if a pistol is prone to discharge by itself, even more important. Thank you for your comment.
Thanks for sharing the information 👍
I'll give that a try. To me it wasn't feeding right, right out of the box. Now to add to that, a .357 casing split and it stuck in the chamber. I found this vid looking up how to get my casing out.
@scottw.8871 to get a stuck casing in the chamber out (no longer a live round), You might need to use a rifle cleaning rod and tap it from the muzzle with the chamber open. If the round is live and the rifle won't fire, definitely take it to a gunsmith and don't attempt to do this at home
The actual back of the casing ejected, it's the forward part of the casing or half or it, is still stuck in the barrel. If I took it apart, some use a rat tail file to lightly push in, twist, and pull it out. I think we even managed to fire off several rounds in it before we knew the casing was in there. Ya really had to look. I hope it's not welded in there.
@scottw.8871 In that case, I'd definitely a gunsmith take a look
This was a helpful video, thank you for putting your CZ in the way of harm for the broader tood
Saved my bacon during hunting season. Thanks!

Same. Hunting Season nearly ruined. Accept for the fact I used a cleaning rod to force the live round out of the feed tube backwards. Slightly damaging two rounds, but am excite to go check the screw now. I hope 🤞

Excellent video. My slide won't lock. I think it is me. I cleaned the pistol, not to the extent you did, just the basics. I will take it apart again but I don't have any confidence in even trying to shoot it. I had used Magtech on the new CZ and it Jaammed it up in a fraction of those rounds. The slides goes back but it won't lock.
@@jamesharris184 slide not locking on last round might be one of 3 things. Weak magazine springs, worn out slide lock or underpowered ammo. Try other ammo and other magazines
@a2ztacticalacademy thanks for getting back to me so quickly the gun is pretty new I cleaned it I was trying to lock it back without a magazine could that be it? Additionally I got a p cz 10f and I had a lot of problems with the trigger not resetting this too is a new gun. I wasn't paying attention to the ammo I was using I have all kinds of factory ammo . I just read elongated 147 grain ammo can be problematic for cz's. It's a learning process but what a wonderful community. I saw something about a test of dropping the round in the barrel and seeing if it seats properly and if it doesn't cartridge may be too long for the CZ. This may explain why 147 grain ammo in my area has been steeply discounted . Thanks again. In addition, I think I better go over the owner's manual again! When I see you guys rack the slide so effortlessly this CZ very difficult. I think the standard Springs must be pretty heavy. Great Channel thank you. I know people love the CZ but I shoot Smith Wesson way better.
Always read the manual first
@rayjohnson3038 I often tell students to sign and date each page. That way, if some legal situation arises, they have proof that they read every page.
So I must assume you and or the owner of that fire arm are doing an extensive investigation. If you weren't doing an extensive investigation that would just be stupid. I assume he has hired a gunsmith to test and analyze a firearm with a faulty sear and a faulty firing pin block. I can't imagine anybody being stupid enough to just let this go without knowing what exactly went wrong. The entire 2A community will be greatfull when you guys get to the bottom of this and release the info on this gun or holster or both. I'm sure there are plenty of lawyers that will work on contingency for him if it's a proven defect.
yes. The owner of that gun left it untouched after the issue, (didn't clean, field strip, etc.) just unloaded it and sent it to SIG factory for a full inspection. I didn't do an analysis of the failure because the gun went to factory. however I don't know what the outcome of the repair or the reason it went off was. I will try to get in touch with him and find out. If I do I will certainly report back.
@a2ztacticalacademy So The manufacturer will make the determination on the problem ? That makes sense , why bother with an independent POV. I'm sure the factory will say " oops our bad". Don't forget to tell this guy to get that holster analyzed. I'm sure they will also admit liability. The most surprising part of this story is an RSO let him continue with "a different gun". My point to all of this is ; If a firearm ACTUALLY fired on its own there would be an obvious engineering flaw or defective part. When the flaw was uncovered by an independent expert the owner would receive a heavy settlement. This is why there is so much resistance from people who hear these "stories ".
I think the STOCK version is safe enough for anyone who understands how to handle it: in particular I think it's fine to ease the hammer all the way on a live round...as the manual indicates. Note that: 1) Once the hammer is all the way down, even a strike on the hammer, doesn't accomplish anything: it's already down all the way! 2) the stock firing pin is not long enough to reach from hammer to the primer: it only reaches the primer with the aid of momentum--it CAN gain that momentum if it's dropped from sufficient height but only if it is pointed down! So, yeah, you could shoot straight down with a high enough drop, but if the hammer all the way down, a blow to the hammer is totally safe!
Thank you. That is incredibly helpful.
Some people sure do like to hear themselves talk
That was a good video, idk why the negativity
What optics will fit this firearm? I’m about to purchase this firearm and would like an optic.
@timpowell8689 The P-10 ships with a blank filler plate. You'll also need to order a plate for either the Trijicon RMR or a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, depending on your desire. There's also plates with backup iron sights. I got my rmr plate at CZ customs in mesa, AZ. Original fit and well machined.
@@a2ztacticalacademy thanks for the info!
@@timpowell8689 you bet. Anytime!
Holosun makes the SCS-P10-GR which direct mounts to the P-10 frame as well if you don't want to deal with mounting plates. The slide serrations even carry over to the sides of the optic which looks pretty cool. I just bought a P-10 C myself and will probably end up grabbing one of those Holosuns for it within the next month or so.
@Fitser ooh, i didn't know. Now I'll have to get a new dot. Thx for the tip
Any external hammer guns are safe for appendix carry
@mma709 generally speaking yes. And many guns without external hammers and strikers are also. My comment was about the ability to block trigger movement by blocking the hammer movement. You could do the same with many revolvers and glocks of they have an SCD device installed
@@a2ztacticalacademy I am a Beretta guy I just put my thumb on the hammer when reholster
@mma709 that's the correct way. I carried a 92fs for a long time, and that's what i did as well
Staccato fans created this false narrative about this gun because they are starting to become like Glock fuckboi's... Any time a new gun comes out and people heap praise on it they take it personally.. Its really silly.. My CZ shadow 2 compact is now my edc and I can't see myself carrying anything else for the time being
@WettDoggTV I tried many times to make the gun fire and nothing. I carried a CZ as my daily tool for many years as well. Cocked and locked with a round in the chamber. Never had an issue. Nowadays, I carry a different pistol for a few different reasons not related to CZ lack of firing pin.
Thats not true. Dove sights make a plate that fits the slide.
True. But I am not a big fan of dovetail mounted plates since in my experience, that they sit way too high (high over bore) and sometimes they tend to "move" or change zero if impacted accidentally. I prefer machined or factory optic ready slides.
@@a2ztacticalacademy I mean who wouldn’t prefer it be factory ready, I was simply just saying you have other options that wasn’t mentioned.
@@ResplendentRaider understood
Watch the videos where they smack the heck out of these using a hammer to hit directly on the hammer with the hammer cocked, half-cocked and hammer down. Even with the extended firing pin they could barely make an impression in the primer. Carry it half-cocked and double action first pull.
@IsItWorthBothering yes half cocked with a longer heavier trigger pull is a good option. However, if the gun is designed to be carried fully cocked with the safety on, I'd prefer that over having to press the trigger while holding the hammer with my thumb
@@a2ztacticalacademy I never hold the hammer with my thumb. I always use my weak side index finger to block the hammer, pull and release the trigger and then roll my finger out of the way. Perfectly safe way to lower the hammer.

Whatever you do, dont show how to do it in this "instructional" video.
@LightofRyga its the unfortunate rules of youtube that forbid videos that show how to improve, install, modify, etc. guns and gun parts. Some older videos from other creators are "grandfathered," but me being newer and a smaller channel, I can't afford getting a youtube strike. Sorry, but that's the unfortunate reality of guns in social media. So I put enough "instruction" as I could get away with.

I don't know without taking it off and doing some measurements. I can try to get you that info later. Might be in a henry manual of parts
Thanks for the information!!!
What if it is happening on a longer gun like AK 47, because my AIM on pistols is fine
@MarekRC_ on a rifle, it could happen too because of the larger kick of recoil. (Assuming free hand shooting with a rifle that's zeroed properly) is it only on 1 rifle for you or all regardless of caliber? A benched rifle that's zeroed should not have this issue
@@a2ztacticalacademy it apeared only on one rifle with the highest caliber of three that i fired that day, it might be just because of the Wright, but the part of going to the left had a small chance of an effect because of the weight
@@MarekRC_ makes sense
@@a2ztacticalacademy do you know what may cause the lean to the left?
@@MarekRC_ not without more specifics but could be the rifling exerting force as the bullet travels down the barrel
Good to know...👍. Now can you explain why Henry 22s jam up when you go slow with the lever...
Lol. That's a mystery... in all seriousness. The technology for a Henry rifle is 140 years old. Yes. There have been some improvements to it, but for the most part, it relies on a deliberate actuation of the lever. All the way out and all the way in. Slow and very fast cycling will always be questionable as to the reliability of the feed and eject. You've given me an idea for another video. I will work on the common problems of Henry rifles and why they happen. Thank you
