I second this advice. I like to get the peppers and up pot them at home. Next you'll need to cut off all the blooms and fruit. Finally, hit it with some root stimulator and allow it to establish until frost and overwinter the plant. You'll have a really good early harvest the next growing season.

Wow, that is interesting. I have always had great success smoking meats doing the exact opposite. Top wide open and modulate air intake (heat) with the bottom vent. I will experiment a little i guess! Good vid.
I had the same experience. Bottom vent to control temp and top vent to fine tune the Temperature. "Different strokes for different folks"

The thicknesses and amount of fat change the time and temp of the cook. By cutting it in half, you can cook separately and achieve the same quality from the whole thing
