Thank you Tyler :-) When I started the group, it was reforming from a previous group Naked Voices who had been together for many years. To stop us from getting stale, I set out to find or commision pieces that were always just that bit too hard, or something that many would say couldn't be done. I wanted us to always be on the edge of what we could achieve - and so keep learning. It was fun seeing the audience reaction - especially the *cool* kids playing air guitar, who were amazed to see a bunch of "old folk" singing Radiohead. Much of the credit should go to the amazing arranger James Davey.

Beautiful? Are you joking? Did you ever heard the original song sung by the Great Stefka? Sorry but I disagree... Let bulgarian people sing their songs. I could appreciate the effort but the result is terribly awful... A torture for my ears! I met Stefka Sabotinova in her house before she died to record some traditional songs (I am an ethnomusicologist)...I repeat, nobody can reach her perfection and sing the way she did.

Thank you Guilherme, that's very kind of you. And yes, I agree re art. What has always driven me has been making people *feel* with music, whatever the emotion. Make people really feel in a show and they come back again and again - it's the secret sauce for gigs.

Still an amateur group, but it was nice to get it right.

Why thank you ! ;-) We were trying to use the voice as an instrument, to specifically try to avoid turning everything into words. Listen to the original song and the sound we were trying to emulate really is a sort of 'going' and much more interesting than 'ding' which many groups would default to.

Thanks Corinne! :-) This was actually the very first time we performed it and yes, it was very hard in places. Keeping everyone properly in time without a reference drummer was the hardest part, along with ironing out pronunciation differences, so as to unify the sound. A wonderful arrangement by James Davey.
