Pra mim um dos marceneiro melhor do mundo.
Watching a master at work is awesome. What a treat.
Thanks Larry and Lauren for taking us on this evolutionary tour of Sam’s rocker design. It’s really inspiring to see how his mind kept pushing forward and moving his pieces into more elegant and functional pieces of furniture/art. Thanks so much for this series!
No face mask? Did he ever suffer from respitory issues?
We heard you the first time, PuC.
Isn’t 100 tho….
no dust collection
No face mask?
We heard you the first time, PuC.
In 1980 I was 21....When I was 12 we played hide & seek in his orange groves. We picked his olives cuz he didn't cure them....we lived just down the street. My late father bought quite a collection from Sam. I just finished burnishing and oiling our 1980 rocker, 1992 ottoman and 1982 lamp table. As I work on these pieces I can feel what Sam felt....detail in every square inch....a master wood-worker.....incredible....

Sam Maloof was in inspiration to many. I hope someday to tour his shop!

The unique texture and character of each piece of craft wood art can inspire us to celebrate our own individuality and appreciate the diversity of others.
So fun to see you making these videos Larry! Congratulations on making the work accessible.

Hi…can you tell me, why are you use the name of my daughter???.
Great information on his chair designs very different from his 80’s and 90’s version .His designs were always artistic at that time .Keep up the good work.
Cool dude
Loved to see the historic critique of Sam's design of the low back dining chair, first through the caring perspective of his dear friend Larry, and then through the fresh eyes of Lauren. Calligraphy? What a intuitive way to describe it. You certainly do understand his aesthetic. Thrilled to see this!
So glad you enjoyed Larry's insights!
Thank you Glenn. I really enjoyed your from the heart talk.
Thanks for joining us! So glad you enjoyed it.
Great job
Thanks for checking out Glenn's talk!

Amazing artistic design! Love your work.
Thank you very much Ann!
Thanks Guys. Looking forward to more videos. There’s something that draws me to Sam’s work and life. I think it’s his genuine pursuit of quality. Love the way he refined his work throughout the years. Love to hear what’s his craftsmen/colleagues have to say about his thinking rationale and him as person.
Thanks Mark! Well said. Yes, Sam was a truly unique maker with an unrelenting commitment to quality and refinement.
Fascinating, thank you! It's always such an adventure to visit the Maloof Foundation and explore both indoors and out.
You're very welcome Ellie! We hope to see you again soon.
Working practices that Health & Safety officials surely have nightmares about, yet the quality of output is fantastic. To be still doing that at 90 years old is truly inspiring.
Absolutely! His work ethic never faded. Thanks for viewing!
He never wore a face mask to protect from the sawdust?
This was a wonderful presentation, love Gina's work , and she is amazing
Agreed! Thanks for joining us.
Great respect for this man ....
My hero!
Sam: free hands a compound curve at the bandsaw. Me: wait, what?
Kids, don't try this at home!
Que bonito trabajo! las piezas parecen esculturas !! es un ejemplo a seguir, paz en su tumba Mr. Sam Maloof
I just finished my Sam Maloof inspired rocker and can say it was worth the learning curve to be able to produce a piece of art that will be a 24-year anniversary present for my wife. Thank you Sam for the inspiration!
What an amazing gift! There's nothing better than a handmade labor of love. Hope she liked it!
This famous craftsman was 90 years old here, a true legend !
