HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN PIE | MYKITCHENBUDDY #seo
Hey Buddies!
HAPPY 2025!! I pray this year comes with so much peace & wealth!
Today, I’ll be sharing my Chicken Pie Recipe with you.
Ingredients :
For the Dough:
• 500g all-purpose flour
• 250g cold butter (cubed)
• 1/2 tsp salt
• Cold water (as needed)
For the Filling:
• 2 chicken breasts (diced)
• 1 spring onion (chopped)
• 1 red bell pepper (chopped)
• 1/2 medium onion (chopped)
• 1/2 cup purple cabbage (shredded)
• 1 carrot (grated or finely diced)
• 1 tbsp flour
• 1/2 cup water or meat stock
• 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
• 1/2 tsp Cameroon pepper ( OPTIONAL)
• 1/2 tsp garlic powder
• 1/2 tsp chicken seasoning
Instructions :
1.Prepare the Dough:
• In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt.
• Add the cubed cold butter and rub it into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
• Gradually add cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.
• Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
2. Make the Filling:
• Boil your chicken for 10 minutes, use a chopper to shred your chicken.
• Heat a little oil in a pan and sauté the onions until soft.
• Add the diced chicken breast and cook until lightly browned.
• Stir in the spring onion, red bell pepper, purple cabbage, and carrot. Cook for a few minutes until softened.
• Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well. Slowly pour in the water or meat stock, stirring constantly to create a thick filling.
• Add the red pepper flakes, Cameroon pepper, garlic powder, and chicken seasoning. Cook for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and allow the filling to cool completely.
3. Assemble the Chicken Pies:
• Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
• Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
• Cut out circular shapes using a cutter or a bowl.
• Place a spoonful of the cooled filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
• Arrange the pies on a lined baking tray and brush the tops with an egg wash for a golden finish.
4. Bake:
• Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pies are golden brown.
5. Serve and Enjoy:
• Let the pies cool slightly before serving. Perfect as a snack or a light meal!

For the egg wash, Adding a tablespoon of water to the egg wash helps thin it out for easier application and ensures an even, golden finish without making it too thick or dark. Hey Buddies! It’s DAY 17 : Garden Party Crostini: Quick & Elegant Appetizer Looking for the perfect appetizer that’s simple, delicious, and looks amazing? Try my Garden Party Crostini! With cream cheese, salami, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and olives, this recipe is a showstopper for any gathering. Ingredients: • 1 fresh baguette (sliced into ½-inch rounds) • 4 oz cream cheese (softened) • Fresh lettuce leaves (small pieces) • 8-10 slices of salami (folded) • Cherry tomatoes (halved) • Green olives (pitted) • 1-2 tbsp olive oil • Toothpicks or skewers Steps: • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). • Place the baguette slices on a baking tray and toast for 5-7 minutes until golden and crisp. Let them cool. • Take each toasted slice and spread an even layer of softened cream cheese. This adds a creamy base to hold the toppings. • Place a small piece of lettuce on top of the cream cheese. How many kg of flour
@@OgonaJennifer Hello, it depends on the amount of meat pie you want to make. In the video, I use 500 grams of flour & 250 grams of butter. If you use 1 kg of flour, your butter measurement should be 500 grams. I hope this helps. 😊

Prepare the Pastry: • In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. • Add the cold butter cubes and rub into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs. • Gradually add cold water, a little at a time, mixing until the dough comes together. Knead briefly to form a smooth dough. • Wrap the dough in cling film and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. 2. Prepare the Filling: • Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. • Add the onions, spring onion, bell pepper (or paprika), potatoes, and carrots, and cook for a few minutes. • Add the minced beef and cook until browned • Stir in the flour and cook for another minute. • Add the beef stock and simmer until the filling thickens and the vegetables are tender. Season with salt, pepper, thyme, and curry powder. • Let the filling cool. 3. Assemble the Meat Pies: • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out circles using a round cutter or the rim of a bowl. • Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle. • Fold the dough over to form a semi-circle and press the edges with a fork to seal. • Place the pies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. • Beat the egg and brush the tops of the pies with it for a golden finish. 4. Bake: • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Enjoy your meat pies!
