Cody Canada was the lead singer/songwriter of the Oklahoma-based rock-country band Cross Canadian Ragweed from their inception in 1998 to their dissolution in 2010. In that time they sold over a million albums.
Cody Canada has returned to vintage Cross Canadian form seizing the opportunity to take the lead of his four-piece band, The Departed, with a newly energized inspiration to get back to his roots. The time he spent pursuing new creative paths with The Departed was a blessing, allowing him time to develop a rejuvenated appreciation for Ragweed's legendary body of work and the connections it made with fans.

CODY CANADA AND THE DEPARTED RELEASE NEW SINGLE, MUSIC VIDEO, "ALL NIGHTER," FEATURING RECKLESS KELLY, MICKY AND THE MOTORCARS
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- (January 25, 2016) Cody Canada and The Departed release today the new single and music video, "All Nighter," featuring members of Reckless Kelly and Micky and the Motorcars.
Penned by frontman Cody Canada, "All Nighter" was filmed at storied honky-tonk Floore's Country Store in Helotes, Texas. The video features Willy and Cody Braun (Reckless Kelly), Micky and Gary Braun (Micky and the Motorcars), and Braun family patriarch Muzzie Braun, along with their respective families. The song is delivered fluidly, with each vocalist presenting a verse.
The on-screen camaraderie documented through the super-group engaged in an intimate, unplugged jam session following a family meal is a direct reflection of the genuine bond the six vocalists share behind the scenes.
Canada reflects on the development of "All Nighter," which was ignited by the tragic passing of Micky and the Motorcars' bassist, Mark "Gus" McCoy in 2012, "When Gus passed away, I felt as if I needed to write something for him. I felt so bad about that situation."
While serving as a memorial, "All Nighter" is also a celebration of family and friendship.
"Muzzie and my wife, Shannon, had a conversation about raising good boys like he had. He told her, 'keep them close by your side,'" Canada recalls. "We spent many nights at the Braun house in Idaho playing songs, but I didn't notice until after I had already wrote and named the song that the wood-burning stove in their home was called The All Nighter," he continues.
"All Nighter" is one of 11 songs on The Departed's 2015 release, HippieLovePunk, and was recorded at Arlyn Studios in Austin. The music video was filmed and directed by Tony Gates.

I turned my phone sideways without meaning to. When I tapped skip ad it instead clicked the thumbs down button. Though not on this song. I did notice what happened, and undisliked the video. I have no idea how many song I gave a thumbs down to before I noticed what was happening. Too late to make a long story short, but some may be accidental.

Yeah, well Texas Country is also a Genre. "Idaho Country" sounds dumb as fuck and boys from Oklahoma can't even roll a joint...So we certainly wouldn't call it "Oklahoma Country"
