Vets Video
I made this video a long time ago for a visit to the vets home in Barstow, CA while we were stationed at Fort Irwin. This is a compilation of our experiences as USAF TACP's. 50% of the pics have a story to them.

2022 KLR 650, First Ride on a Dual Sport Ever!!!!
Enjoyed all of your KLR vids, thanks for sharing. I'm looking to get back to motorcycle riding after a 40 year hiatus. A dual-sport seems like the best choice for me, living in rural MT. I'm 6'3" 225lbs, pretty good shape. I believe I could handle the size/weight of the KLR.
Enjoyed your pics, thanks for sharing! Thanks for your service too! I'm USMC Retired, served 1979-2004, MOS 0861, Fire Support Man.
Why the hell would you take a picture of a fallen bike and publish it . If you actually loved motorcycles you'd never ever do that . Take the bus ' look out the window
I snatched up a 24' KLR and I am loving it. Its a whole lot of fun and functionality for a small price tag. I use it as a daily, and have put 9000 miles on it since july. No offroad except clean trails and grass... but I live in Amish Country... and so having the option to handle off road is amazing. I think Ive been the only person in Ohio on a bike many days. 10 degrees is ok as long as the roads are clear of ice and snow. I am considering tire studs.
Thanks, great video! Regards from Sweden🇸🇪
Stock tiers? Put some decent tires on it, world of difference.
Idk wtf is up with those bars.
I have a 1991 with 49700 miles, and a 16 klr cameo with 12000 miles. i love riding both of them . Both run perfect i added crash bars skid plates ect....
you dont need the thermobob on gen 3 LOL
I enjoyed the Virginia City video the terrain is very similar to the surrounding areas of Santa County. I just purchased a "22 Adventure ABS. @John Butler I ride with you for you are not biased whatsoever.
Just got my 23 klr650 , absolutely love it , I've had everything from r1 - to harley, i now have 13 miles of dirt road to my new house and this fits the bill perfectly, commuting 27 miles one way to work daily with 13 miles being gravel road , 53 miles a day 26 of witch are on dirt the klr gets it done on the cheap and i dont feel bad slinging gravel all over it
U hate rocks because K750 tires DO TOO...😄. I hope by now u've upgraded to something in Dunlop's D600 series.
The saddlebags and trunk look excellent
when them cheap A$$ tires were out at 3000 miles upgrade to endoro tires it will tide better off road and on road. the stock tires are just $hi# ! I have a 2022 klr fuel pump died I changed it NOTE red wire on the pump motor in side the sending unit was lose, I didn't try it do to the labor timr I decided just to put the new pump in and criped the red wire to make it tight. fuel pump was $60 on amozon comes with new fuel filter the old filter was bad at 3300 mils dirt in it looked like paint over spray from when they painted the tank. off road my $2000 x-pro templar m 250cc ripps . I put on a smaller rear sprocket upgraded kick stand the one it came with bent like hot lead lost the scid plate 9 loc tight loc tight loc tight ) they should sell loc tight in 5 gal pals sadle bags rank bag upgraded headlight fixed wiring harness was just taped connections from new all bolts need loc tight added seat cushion replaced key witch and starter button upgrade carb so I could adjust carb to get the exhaust to stop glowing red replaced rear shock upgraded spark plug rapped glug wire to stop it from melting on the head speed O liyes by 5 mph your doing 5 under what it reads like the KLR also it is a 2023 with now 400 miles on it. I think I got the bugs worked out now, I road it 85 miles on road the other day like I stole it my son followed me on the kLr Both bikes got 48 mpg the @50cc would get better cruising Remember I ran it all out 9.5k rpm for 85 mile taering out after every stop.
I highly suggest crash bars.
Klx 300 is a better bike.. on the other end of the spectrum the versys x 300 is a better bike. Been following the klr for 5 years now. I own a klx 300 2024 model. My next bike will be the vx300. I dont forsee any need or use for the pig bike klr.
Service intervals might be not as good.
I'd like to ride that trail on a KLX 300. My KRL Adventure is to heavy for me to ride that route.
This is the Glock 19 of motor cycles!
Greetings, As always another excellent detailed video 🇺🇲🍾🎉🇺🇲 Would you provide me with the brand of the windshield. Thank you so much for assisting me and keep producing more videos about the KLR
Stop and flick those stingers out with a credit card. Just don't rub or squeeze 'em. That just pumps the venom into you.
Nice video. I just got my 2024 KLR. I'm in Nor Cal as well. Maybe I'll see you in the trails one day
If wind is an issue, look up a laminar lip….it is an amazing thing to stop buffeting
Yup. That was real. I hate how when I first fall my adrenaline is just pumping.
Still got her ?
To be honest after owning a 3rd Gen KLR650 I can honestly say for what it was built to do, it is far more capable than me and most people I know. Most people that criticize it are not even capable to use it to its full potential.
Zuma. Xt
I love my 2024 KLR! It's a simple, efficient bike that allows for great California moto camping. I have a 2nd bike (BMW R1250RS) for commuting and speed runs through the So Cal canyons. Everyone should own a KLR for the fun factor!
45 mpg. ,is about what you can expect from the 650 , I have a 650 Versys parallel twin I get 58 mpg
I would love to see a klr 650 with a versys 650 motor
Wow. Such honesty is quite refreshing!
😄😄
Ferntucky!
My '22 KLR Adventure sports a National Cycle tall Vstream windscreen. Slight buffeting on the face. Love my KLR.
Excellent review...Thanks for putting in the work lol.
Guys, do you have a nervous system? Don’t you feel the vibration in this thing, it spoils the fun. I hate this thing on the highway
I have a 95 model , old school , but the fuel mileage is about 40 at best
I miss my KLR ..
I cruise to work at 80 every day and I'm getting about 45mpg on my KLR
plus a quart of oil
18:52 - 19:04 Well said. Perfect way to describe who this bike is for
Love the KLR's. Sold my 22 about a year ago now and getting ready to get a new one for the early fall riding season. Only issue is that I've found some good deals on the first gen Triumph Tiger 900's 2020-2023, so I'm in the decision process, I know the tiger is better overall, but the KLR really is good and half the price.
Why do all the adventure guys only ride on trails that look like dirt roads. Ie. Thats a truck trail.
I have owned many sport bikes, power cruisers etc over the years and have found my Gen 3 KLR has the smootest shifting transmission. Yes its the perfect bike for what I use it for.
The KLR is a legend. My buddy had driven one for 20 years. He beats the living hell out of it, the bike doesn't even sweat it. He changes the oil once a year. It never skips a beat.
I dont think Im there yet....but getting close. Rode hard offroad all thru my 30's, now in my 40's and settled on my KLX300 that can dual sport and single track. But starting to think of getting a KLR to haul my fishing stuff around. And putting on more easy miles, cuz I mainly explore Great Lakes area anyway. I still haul the KLX to the desert in winters and do some crazy sketchy enduro though...that would be tough to give up.
If you end up getting a KLR DON'T sell the KLX! They are just such fun bikes. I have had more bikes than I can remember and my KLX has been my favorite. I have a Versys 650 for when I want a longer trip. I have also been looking at the KLR but not sure if I want 3 bikes in my basement? Although that would be sweet. :)
@@Kawboy13 I picked up a new KLR ADV in the matte blue, great looking bike. And its fricken awesome. Never ever rode a bike so planted and plush on dirt roads.
@@tieoneon1614 Well, maybe I should try one out? I'm just afraid the vibrations I hear about are going to make my hands numb?
I'm getting 240 miles per tank on my 2024 KLR before the fuel gauge begins to flash.
4:12 I stand on the pegs all over the place, with stock handlebars. I’m 6’1”.
I love my 23 Adventure. Been dogging that thing for 10K so far. What a fun bike!
Pobres atlantes, los matasteis todos
I have a xr650 with a lot of mods and all the bolt on power adders and it’s a awesome bike. My best friend just got a older 04 klr and we will have to do some comparison. I like the lighter Honda, I run Moto z tractionators so does my buddy on his brand new ktm 450 enduro, has a oversized 5.5 gallons tank I love the dirtbike look. I have led lights all around and low profile turns. Mx styled graphics kit. Rides soo much better for distance then my buddies ktm but not as adventure bike riding like the klr.
Nicely outfitted scooter.
Its not your center of gravity its your re bound is too fast on back end you can hear it...... plus give it sum 4th gear open they get a little more injection at 9 or 10 k RPM. Am sure iv seen it on online manual
