    Hello there! I'm contacting you because you're featured on the website I just created, about dreads. It's in Italian but I thought you'd like to see it: dreadhead.it/dreadlock-extensions-e-cyberdreads/ dreadhead.it/cura-dei-dread-i-migliori-prodotti/ And I think dreadshop might be your shop? Is that right? In that case you're also among the recommended soap-sellers!

    I have dreadlocks done with human hair extensions which I have had since early December and I love them but I hate the fact that whenever I have maintenance I end up with a very sore head for about 4 days and find it difficult to sleep due to the tenderness of my head and I would like to know if this is normal and if anything can be done to relieve it.

    • @dreadshop
      @dreadshop 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Trish, you can ask your loctician to work a bit less tight. If it's so sore for you, it might be too tight. Another option is working with thread at the roots, that's the Seienstyle method. It gives way less soreness and longer lasting result.

      @@dreadshop Hi Renate, Thank you for replying to my question. Do you know if there is anyone in Melbourne, Australia that does the Seienstyle method because maybe I could try that next time I am due for maintenance which I seem to need about every 8 weeks. Regards, Trish BTW I love your TH-cam clips

    No need for locking powder, just makes your hair dry and dusty. pulling that tight is unnatural and painful. Crochet hooking that much is going to cause breakage and cause for my fly aways and loose hairs as well.

      faith darnell felting the tiny loops takes more time than felting the other side of the dreadlock, due to the extreme care to be taken. At least, that’s why my dreadlocks are priced as they are.

    • @themunk33

      Infernal Cookie I'm sure it costs that much to get them put in, considering it takes time to sew in a set on someone's head.

    • @delaneym.7412
      @delaneym.7412 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Infernal Cookie cost of the wool. Cost of the soap and other materials. You're also paying for labor. And when someone is making sets of up to 70-80, materials aren't cheap.

    • @craftsbykoko
      @craftsbykoko 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought the same thing. Bought enough roving for a whole head- $30. Haven't picked a dye. For one 24" double ended dreadlock its taking me a solid 15+ minutes of palm rolling (gotta make sure none of it can be separated). Need between 80-100 (40-50 DE) locks to look natural. They are labor intensive to make. Glad I can do the install myself. Not cheap.

    • @carnageartistry444
      @carnageartistry444 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They cost so much because of the labor it takes. Your hands KILL after doing this for hours. They bruise, and sometimes blister.

    • @twistedknotz5485
      @twistedknotz5485 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may not be complicated, but it is extremely time intensive and it is very, very hard on the hands to make several of these. Also, the video cut out several times during the rolling. She did not roll that double ended dread in just a few minutes it probably took her at least 10 to 15 minutes for one dread. if you multiply that by 50 double ended dreads (basically a full set) that's over 8 hours of JUST the rolling process. Then you have the materials on top of that. They are putting in a full day's work to make one set of double ended dreads, why shouldn't they get paid for that?

      Usually the best wool to make dreads is called Merino wool. From other videos that I have watched they say it works great. What she put in the water is olive soap, it’s sold on her website. That just makes it easier so that you don’t have to use a knife and bar soap. I hope that helped :) I have been watching a ton of videos to learn the best method.
