Great concept. Though, I was hoping you’d lean a bit less on FF, DQ & KH. Perhaps the 2nd session of DLC could have been used to show off a couple more newer Square franchises, like Octopath & Star Ocean

Id honestly rather have a shounen jump 3v3 game developed by capcom. Some years after they release shounen jump vs capcom while reusing many models and other assets from the previous game similar to how mvc started with xmen children of the atom. Then we could have a huge roster for the second game but a decently sized one for the first. Some people would see it as lazy but I think this would be a good way to handle it.

Ichigo really should have been base roster same with Zero tbh.

I played the demo last night and made the same joke, “Definitely A Switch”. The game looks good but it feels like it could have been better. Some of the puzzles that worked great on the DS felt less innovative here. I still might buy with the digital token discount. Anyway I enjoyed your take on the game.

Hello - developer here, loved watching this whole thing, thank you for playing :) Some clarifications: - the God Bumper in the Museum is randomly Gilgamesh or Avatar - Gilgamesh is indeed my version of Obelisk. Emperor Dragon is Slifer. Avatar isn't so much Ra but more like Marik's play style - Hospital being Warrior themed was sort of because I didn't think of anything better... and Warriors had some HP restoration Abilities - Yeah the physics are jank in Tournament compared to 64 and Gaiden, it was a skill issue for me at the time. Gaiden is much nicer mechanically than Tournament but obviously a very different game in some ways - Yeah, Knights and Ronins are pretty broken :P but I figured the main game could have about the same difficulty as a casual Pokemon playthrough. The Roguelike Mode might actually be slightly more balanced - Not being able to view Bumper info (apart from in the pause menu) was dumb, I just didn't consider it because I knew what they all did. Fixed this in Gaiden

Sakamoto days definitely deserves that spot, super underrated series.
