I ordered a moosehide drum kit from your company a couple of years ago after hearing a friend's moosehide drum - absolutely beautiful - but haven't made my drum yet because I have felt intimidated by the moosehide. I thought that pulling the hide taut would be a lot more difficult. After watching this video, even though the example used is deerhide, I have come to the conclusion that I may be overthinking the entire thing. Time to make my drum. Thanks so much for the video 🙂

Hello, thank you so much for the awesome tutorial! I recently got my very first hand drum. I’ve applied bear grease to it for the first time this evening. I’m wondering if I should leave it out in the open ina safe spot before wraping it back up in the leather I was given to wrap it in, or if I should just wrap it up right away. I want to keep it for as long as possible ❤️

No sound… what is the material you are using?

I've been using mink oil since I can't get bear grease and I have it for my other leather stuff but is that sweet almond oil stuff better than the mink for the drum? Will have to try it out.
