Henri Bergmann and Wennink, the dynamic husband-and-wife duo are back with their latest melodic release, ‘How To Get Lost’. Set to drop on November 8 via Bergmann’s own Automatik label, the duo’s new record is a bold new offering from Bergmann and Wennink, one that perfectly encapsulates their forward-thinking vision. An emotive journey driven by a fusion of trance, melodies, and techno, ‘How To Get Lost’ resonates long after the final beat.
The duo's previous collaboration on Crosstown Rebels, 'Guardian Angel' received widespread radio and DJ support, including being selected by Pete Tong as BBC Radio 1 Dance's Essential New Tune of the Week. Serving as the follow up to the duo’s successful 'Guardian Angel', ‘How To Get Lost’ promises to deliver a bold fusion of uplifting energy and a driving bassline woven into its fabric. The track explores the tension between control and surrender, rising melodic leads, and a 303 that nods to Bergmann's favorite elements of the underground scene.
“We wanted to do something dark, driving, and a bit grittier, incorporating some of my favorite elements of the scene,” explains Bergmann and Wennink. “It was all about finding the hooks-the rising lead melody and its bassier response-and building the track around those and the vocal. In a way, the track is a bit of a fond farewell to that melodic drama, as all the tracks we’ve been making since are different in their sound.”
Despite its grittier undertones, the warm synths from ‘How To Get Lost’ create a euphoric contrast to the more brooding basslines and textures. Wennink’s vocal line, ‘how to get lost without losing it,’ serves as a powerful hook that captures the thrill of letting go and embracing the unknown. “Getting lost is an exciting thing to do,” Wennink says. “It heightens your senses, and there’s an element of danger-something we all crave. That line could go in so many directions, but for me, it was about needing to escape ‘reality,’ to see how far you can take it.”
