Charlie's from Surfs up - Hurricane Mountain Zone. North Conway, NH
มุมมอง 98ปีที่แล้ว
Another blind run, this time down Charlies from the end of Surfs Up. The top of Charlies does go a bit higher up the mountain. If you are doing Surfs up from the top it goes right into this section of Charlies, a great run which is about a 1,600' decent.
Tornado - Hurricane Mountain Zone. North Conway, NH
มุมมอง 272ปีที่แล้ว
Blind run down Tornado in the Hurricane Mountain Zone in North Conway NH. Tornado is a newer trail and it's only about half way up to the top so it's quicker to session than doing Hurricane/Surfs Up/Redtail/Upper Charlies. Fast and tons of flow, whats not to love
Surfs Up - Hurricane Mountain Zone. North Conway NH
มุมมอง 62ปีที่แล้ว
Blind run from the top of the Hurricane Mountain Zone down Surfs up to Charlie don't surf. I split the Video into two parts because the whole run is over 10 minutes. Surfs up is a super fast flow trail, it's about a 1,600' climb to get here but so worth it.

This is a hidden gem (to the non-locals) right off I95 in Maine. I hadn't been here in a few years, Bustamove and Flowcreek are both machine built and there is a separate section of tech trails where Raven is. Worth checking out if you're passing by. 0:01 Bustamove 1:19 Flow Creek 3:20 Raven
Conquering the wine tree roller - Thunder Mountain Bike Park: Scoping lines Series

Title says it all. This was the last piece of the puzzle for me to connect all of Wine Tree. Not my typical trail preview kind of video but it may help some riders with the thought process of going for a sketchy feature. I ended up doing it twice but it still is pretty darn sketchy. Thanks Druid Dave for the support.

Yo! Glad to see you back making videos brother!
Thanks. I haven't ridden much this year that I haven't already filmed. I just try to give people a look at the trail with decent footage before they visit.
WHAT!!! that trail doznt run like that anymore!
No, no it doesnt. Pretty rough now!
Very cool.
great vid!
Thanks for sharing! I just did this on Saturday for the first time and loved it!!! How about that climb? No Ebikes here, so while it was pain in the hole, it was totally worth it 😊
Rode this trail yesterday. It was really fun. Nice video, very realistic.
They always leave out that TERRIBLE left hand berm... on sleeping jakes video's
It’s fixed now 💥💥🤯🤯
Nah I did it way faster
Prove it smarty pants!
@@joeyree22 ok il try to rec when I go there in two weeks
How do you get so many views I’ve had this video on my page for almost a year now only 126 views
No idea, the algorithm?
As a newbie, Gronk was fun as hell! the jumps were not intimidating at all!
making it look easy
It's not a beginner trail IMO, but still about as beginner as it gets at Thunder. One of my favorites. There are quite a few beginner FLOW trails at Thunder, but TECH trails? Not too many and you're probably right by looking at Harolds and Trillium for tech trails that get you from middle-ish of the mountain to the bottom. Despite the washouts I'd still say Trillium is more beginner-friendly, if only for the fact that it's more popular and centralized and gives the rider a chance to not be alone for long periods of time if things were to go sideways. With the popularity of the trail they can take comfort in knowing they're not in the "boonies" like they would be in some parts of Harolds.
Trillium and Harold's Blend off Sugar Line, are the two trails I recommend to train on when getting ready for your first Black Diamond trail. Trillium had one section in 2023 that was in need of serious maintenance and got me good. Thankfully my full-face helmet saved me...again. LOL The key to Harold's is momentum. If you go too slow, the techy rock sections will stop you dead, then it's crash time.
Best trail there by far. Next best would be Gronk. Both trails can be run by beginners after hitting Sugar Line a few times. All jumps on Gronk can be rolled until the rider feels comfortable trying to jump.
i am glad you made it...to much for me
love the sound
It's hard to tell from footage, but the lead-up is basically shark-fin razors. Difficult to carry any speed though that section. Last time I raced it I cut across the whole section diagonally to avoid the danger 😅
The run in is definitely what sketched me out.
Glad to say I lapped this trail with my bro’s all day long
I got peer pressured into going down that roller. Hit it with my feet off the pedals and only my front tire touching the rock the whole time. I did it but was way uglier than your send. So sketchy. Great job!
Wow, and you lived to tell the tale
This isn’t lift access? I always thought it was.
No it’s pedal access, the climb trail is around 560’ ascent.
@@NE_RAW_MTB word, gotcha. I’m thinking about heading up next spring to Perry Hill and that area.
now i want to try this place.... thanks for the vid
It was my first time there, not a horrible climb either only like 560’. Definitely check it out.
Would love to pick your brain about your GoPro settings, footage looks great

@@NE_RAW_MTB haha, same bro. It looks good regardless brother!
Rode that trail on a hardtail yesterday. No way I was touching that roller though. The video doesn’t do it any justice. Nice job.
I hear ya, one day you’ll do it.
Nice, what kind of bike is that?
Santa Cruz V10 29er
Love that trail!!
Awesome job. I could feel the tension! It looks nasty. The incessant blabbering from your buddy must have been super distracting. I can’t listen to that when I’m trying to focus.
If you’ve rolled into it you know, it looks sketchy. Actually my buddy helped talk me though it! I’ve done it a few times since, still sketchy!
Treat it like a rental
Great video, one of my favorite trails! Going to be out there in October, can't wait! 🤙
Place looks sick!
GoPro effect is crazy. A lot of stuff I ride seems super steep or fast until you go back and watch it. Awesome job! Keep it up.
Much appreciated!
Awesome trail!
Even better now if you haven't ridden it within the last few weeks.
Beautiful trail! Mad props to the builders for not only the design, but for getting it silky smooth the majority of the way :)
Man, Snakebite is rough.
Trail looks like it's got some pretty sweet flow !
Yeah it's pretty good although not as fast as it had ran in the past, definitely worth riding if your at the east haven trails. They just put in a new trail above it called Grit & Bear it that's a little more technical and fun.
Videos do no justice to how scary it really is to roll into this thing.
No justice whatsoever
Ik dude. Its scary asf
I just went today I really wish I would have done all the more advanced stuff on the right but unfortunately I never got time to do it before it closed
It's an awesome little section. The drop looks pretty big but it's super easy, something to look forward to for next time!
@@NE_RAW_MTB for sure!
What What....can't wait to get up there this year with you all. Great Vid and quality too. Thanks NE Raw!
good stuff :) i can't wait to get up there, awesome place to ride :)
I’d give it a week or two the trails got hammered, it’s actually in good shape once it dries out.
Those last 3 jumps on Jump Start are perfect for practice and progression. Tough to overshoot with wide and deep landings. One of the best blue trails I've ridden (along with Cat's Paw, Blue Magic and Gronk.
guy in the blue shorts has ups... nice vid
First time I visited Thunder I expected this feature to be simple after watching a ton of videos. GoPro doesn't come close to showing how big and steep that is.
Best dirt on the mountain is at the top of Cable Trail
I need to get back up there, haven't hit killington yet this year
We were there the first day it opened. Slow but you can see the potential. They definitely added more spots to double at speed ... Been to a ton of parks and there's only one Cat & Mouse. Never seen anything like it.
Yeah that bottom half is going to be mint once they finish it and it rides in
Old Fashioned at Bryce is very similar
@@RRBuilder611 Then it must be awesome!
You make some of the best MTB pov content in the Northeast on TH-cam! Been to all the parks but never Kingdom Trails (I'm from PA). Do they have a lift or shuttle or is it pedal only?
Thanks! I'm just trying to provide a good view for anyone looking to ride the trails. No lift at kingdom, it's all trail riding. If you trail ride it's a must visit area, black bear is one of the best trails you'll ever ride. The also have a lift service bike part at burke mountain right there.
@@NE_RAW_MTBI'll put it on my fall "must ride" list, thx ... You have great video quality, and I like how it's just the sound of the trail and your hubs ... they sound like mine, are they 350s with the 54t ratchet? And your skill level is on par with mine. As much as I like watching Bernard Kerr, Jackson Goldstone (he's so sick) or even Skills with Phil, it's better watching someone you can relate to, so you can kinda picture yourself doing it. I'll definitely check out Black Bear though. Heading to Killington after the 4th but I'll be back up there end of September for the Open. I'll have a few days to kill so we'll check it out ✌🏼
@@topspot4834 that was my intention at first to just have the raw sound. I may start doing some repair videos since i’m always working on bikes. Those are I9 hydra hubs on we are one faction carbon wheels. Evil following V3. Bernerd’s channel is awesome I pretty much watch that and dialed for world cup coverage. I’ll be at the open, my friends already rented a place.
Yes it is. The downhill will wear you out more than the up. It should be named Glucosamine.
Ha, isn’t that the truth and the uphill is a real dog. I’ll be back up there this week!
Had a blast there the other weekend.. i will definitely be going back there...
That’s some good riding, felt like putting my helmet to finish watching the run 🤙🏼
Have you ever been to highland before?
I've been less than 5 times, I have had fun everytime I went but I don't know it super well. That place is full of hidden secrets
Always a good day when you post, and my favorite time of year as all the parks finally open. Went to Highland last week but not a lotta trails were open. Heading up to Creek Thursday then Thunder for the weekend. Anything new at Thunder this year? I heard they got rid of the barn drop, is that true?
Nothing new, I heard they're working on the lower part of loamstar/cat and mouse and they're doing some work in the back of the shack area but i'm not sure if it's for MTB or skiing. Conditions are good, trillium & badger are super boney this year.
Looking forward to more of your Thunder vids :)
Thanks. Learning some new trails this season.
