Followed your tutorial, was a great help from the start as i had no idea how to do AES encryption before, and cloudnt find any other tutorial as simple as yours. HOWEVER, your code as is is flawed. The password is incorrect, it must be in a specific format for it to work. This is an functioning example for AES128: // Define a 16-byte key (AES-128 requires 16 bytes) byte key[16] = {'1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1'}; And here is one for AES-256: AES256 aes; // Use AES256 for 256-bit key support // Define a 32-byte key (AES-256 requires 32 bytes) byte key[32] = { '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '1', '2', '2', '2', '2', '2', '2', '2', '2', '2', '2', '2', '2', '2', '2', '2', '2' }; Also, it is worth noting that the encrypted message can be only of a certain length, meaning that long texts have to be cut and encrypted individually, and later it has to be decrypted from the same cutted parts

@@kindspirittechnology At first, it seemed like your code was working fine, but after some testing, I discovered that regardless of the key used, the message allways encrypted the same. I was able to encrypt a message with the key 1111111111 and decrypt it with the key 1234567890. I think its because of the wrong key format, which resulted in the program defaulting to some default key. Replacing the key with what I posted above seems to fix it

Hi, first of all, thanks for this tutorial, everything is encrypted. However, when capturing the traffic, and then trying to decrypt it with Wireshark, it doesn't get decrypted. Could you make a video about it? Also, maybe I have generated in a wrong way the server's certificate. I am using a self-signed one. Thanks!

So the mDNS works whether your configured as an access-point / hotspot or in station mode? For example, in station mode when the client device sees .local, it multicasts a UDP packet asking who's got this name.. then the esp32 replies directly. All of this is possible due to to mDNS and not the traditional DNS?

Can this be made to work with the IDF IDE (not VS-Code/PlatformIO)? I've seen examples of people using arduino-esp32fs-plugin / framework (like the one from Shawn Hymel), but I prefer to use Eclipse IDE to implement the file-system based project. What is the difference between SPIFFS , LittleFS , JesFs, STORfs etc? BTW, my goal is for the ESP32 to run a webserver.. is there any restriction as to the type of webpage elements that can be stored/served? I imagine any javascript/css/html is fine, but can it stream audio?
@bennguyen1313 Web development is part of what esp32 can do, but as of how far you can go with it; I can't say. Guess that video stream is too much to expect because, for it you would need asynchronous connection. I don't know about IDF. Espressif framework is also a good option.

Well, release is important if you need an older version. For the latest, it's the same as compiling the code. The true problem lies in cases when code needs an update or there is an error in it.
