Italian gamer here, I fully agree with Japanese gamers, what Ubisoft did with this game is disrespectful to the national history of Japan, all in the name of a destructive ideology such as DEI. Also what's wrong with playing as a badass Japanese man in a video game? I played all the Yakuza (Ryu Ga Gotoku) games and Kazuma Kiryu is one of my favorite main characters in any game ever. Stay strong against failed woke western companies like Ubi-slop.

I am white and im not buying this game it would be like Ubisoft takes a black man and saying he was a german rebel like my grandfather. Erase my grandad things he did and saying the black man did it. We gamers need to tell Ubisoft no or else they will change history to make sure their religion is in everything.

As soon as the game is released, Japanese should file this game to Japan's foreign affairs office. Let's the politicians get involved. A great chance to make those politicians prove their worth of people's money. If you are not protecting your history now then when? If you guys don't take any action to protect your history, other developers will see fabricating your history is a convenient way to get dirty money. Or should you wait until our future kids only know your country as a country with a crappy history made up by some random, irresponsible people, who got away with money from ruining Japan.

Japanese people are not that angry at wrong or exaggerated portrayals of Japan. There are even enthusiasts of false portrayals of Japan. Expecting samurai and ninja is about the same as expecting gun action in America. It is a shame that in this case, the culture and people were treated so carelessly, using only the best parts. The lack of sincerity in dealing with the volunteer group that had their flag stolen was also a real bummer.
