My wife and I ran a Ltd company for at least ten years in the UK. My wife recently passed away and now I want to cease trading and retire. The assets in the company is money in the business account around £260k. Included in this amount there is £85k invested in a fixed time bank account that matures in February 2025 the rest of the funds are in a normal business account. Will I qualify for BADR?

Sir, We have a newly residential property business which deals in buying residential properties for rental purposes and also involve in construction of building on bare land. We want to recover input vat on our refurbishments and labour and materials. I know vat is exempt on residential property. Do we need to OPT IN for tax so that we can recover vat on our expenses. A reply would be very much appreciated. Thanks

What about all the taxable income that is washed free of via offshore banks. Furthermore, there's Amazon who last year's earned of €42 profit in Europe and did pay a cent in tax. I heard once that approximately £120 billion pass through the City of London laudromat annually with no tax deduction.

I know that top earners pay a lot of tax, but there seems to be very little here in the way of how much people pay who gain their income as a product of asset ownership such as collection of rent, debt repayment, or dividends

Thanks for doing this! I have a question on commercial properties, say X purchased and opted to tax a building years ago. When X sells the building to Y now, VAT will need to be charged right? And Y will then need to opt to tax the building in order to recover the VAT?

How come it’s always the working people that foot the bill in tax payments for incompetent spending by govement and are never held accountable
