Hi Folks! This is a one man operation. These videos are a process of my decision making. I truly don't know what the result will be until I have finished it! I start with an inspiring idea or an artistic choice: (a movement, shape, or a sound). Every choice is an experiment: I don’t know if something is right unless I try it. These experiments requires exploration, research and playing with the images to test ideas, risk mistakes and be curious. As you explore my videos, you will find that you will enjoy the time you spent watching them as I had making them. PAINT IT BLACK - The Rolling Stones.
"Paint It Black" is a song by the English rock band the Rolling Stones. A product of the songwriting partnership of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, it is a raga rock song with Indian, Middle Eastern and Eastern European influences and lyrics about grief and loss. London Records released the song as a single on 7 May 1966 in the United States, and Decca Records released it on 13 May in the United Kingdom. Two months later, London Records included it as the opening track on the American version of the band's 1966 studio album Aftermath, though it is not on the original UK release.
Originating from a series of improvisational melodies played by Brian Jones on the sitar, the song features all five members of the band contributing to the final arrangement although only Jagger and Richards were credited as songwriters. In contrast to previous Rolling Stones singles with straightforward rock arrangements, "Paint It Black" has unconventional instrumentation, including a prominent sitar, the Hammond organ and castanets. This instrumental experimentation matches other songs on Aftermath. The song was influential to the burgeoning psychedelic genre as the first chart-topping single to feature the sitar, and widened the instrument's audience. Reviews of the song at the time were mixed, and some music critics believed its use of the sitar was an attempt to copy the Beatles, while others criticised its experimental style and doubted its commercial potential.
Over 1965, the sitar had become a more and more prominent instrument in the landscape of British rock. The Yardbirds had attempted to record "Heart Full of Soul" with the sitar as part of the arrangement in April; however, they had run into problems getting the instrument to "cut through" the mix, and the session musician responsible for playing the instrument had trouble staying within the 4/4 time signature of the song. Ultimately, the final version of "Heart Full of Soul" featured a fuzz guitar in place of the sitar, although the song's distinctively Indian timbre remained. Following similar Indian-influenced experimentation by the Kinks on "See My Friends" that nonetheless still used guitar as the primary instrument, the first British band to release a recording featuring the sitar was the Beatles, with "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)" released that December on the album Rubber Soul. Following a discussion with the Beatles' lead guitarist George Harrison, who had recently played the sitar on the sessions for "Norwegian Wood" in October 1965, Jones began devoting more time to the sitar, and began arranging basic melodies with the instrument. One of these melodies morphed over time into the tune featured in "Paint It Black".
Wyman was later critical of Oldham listing Jagger and Richards as songwriters to the exclusion of the rest of the Stones. He felt that "Paint It Black" should have been credited to the band's pseudonym, Nanker Phelge, rather than Jagger-Richards, since the song's final arrangement originated from a studio improvisation by Jones, Watts and himself, and Jones was responsible for providing the melody line on the sitar. In the view of pop historian Andrew Grant Jackson, "Paint It Black" bears a strong resemblance to the Supremes' 1965 hit "My World Is Empty Without You", which used "a foreboding minor key with harpsichord and organ".

I had the video up for a couple of month's, Then someone who owned twelve seconds in the middle of "dance" wanted it taken down or trim the section out. No biggie. But I had to remake it... couldn't just trim it out with the music I synced. So I left a sarky note in the video about it. Oh well. I used to visit my grandma in NYC and go through her photo albums and so much of that video including the homes, people, etc. look like they are right out of her albums. I believe her grandfather Frank Lloyd Wright had some influence on the construction of the home as it had a lot of his style. Cody sold it to another illustrator Joe Bolger. Cody moved to Hilton Head, South Carolina and later Joe Bolger also moved the Hilton Head. I have been in Cody's home quite a few time. He had a magnificent studio. His works are probably the reason I became interested in art.

Be sure to check out the Alice Cooper Bond Theme Song, "The Man with the Golden Gun.". The band turned in the song one day too late so it Couldn't be used.
Nice mashup! If you’re looking for an even better Sinatra song with that 007 sound, check out “My Way of Life” off of the album “Cycles” recorded a year later (1968) than “The World We Knew (Over and Over)”. Interestingly enough, You Only Live Twice came out in 67 (and was recorded by Sinatra’s daughter Nancy) and the next movie in the franchise would be On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in 69. “My Way of Life” I think would’ve been a solid choice for the OHMSS film (new Bond, and the theme of the character’s sense if dry and lifestyle) and we would’ve had back to back Sinatras doing the theme which so far had never been done

I think this is one of the best songs in the history of western popular music. Listening to this song, I always feel the similar sensation when I heard the 3rd movement of Mozart's 25th piano concerto.
Honestly, I don't know this version of this 007 film, but as soon as I hear the song I associate it with Bond. I'm still unsure if it's real or fan service. I'll clarify by searching the internet.

It's not really from a 007 film, the poster is making the point that it would have been an excellent theme song for a Bond film, and made a video just to demonstrate his idea.

What beautiful music! I heard it first time listening to a vinyl record 60 years ago. I studied at school and my English was on a low level. But I fell in love with the unknown to me singer. I also adore a French version by Mireile Mathieu ' Le Mond Avec Toi'. This song by Frank Sinatra is an internal masterpiece!
