Alone by Edgar Allan Poe
✍🏼 "From childhood's hour, I have not been as others were"
Have you ever felt so lonely that you thought maybe others knew something that you ignored?
This is something I have experienced, and in no doubt Poe did too.
"Alone" is one of his most personal poems, reflecting his sense of isolation and the emotional struggles that defined much of his life. It was written in 1829 but was not published during Poe's lifetime. The poem gives a glimpse into Poe's mind, revealing the loneliness, emotional isolation, and deep despair that he felt throughout his life.
I hope this video helps you feel less alone and more in connection with yourself!
Please feel completely free to vent (always in good spirits and not offending anybody) in the comments!

"Alone" by Edgar Allan Poe
From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then-In my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life-was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.

Emancipation by Emily Dickinson
มุมมอง 430หลายเดือนก่อน
✍🏼 Poem "Emancipation" by Emily Dickinson No rack can torture me, My soul's at liberty Behind this mortal bone There knits a bolder one You cannot prick with saw, Nor rend with scymitar. Two bodies therefore be; Bind one, and one will flee. The eagle of his nest No easier divest And gain the sky, Than mayest thou, Except thyself may be Thine enemy; Captivity is consciousness, So's liberty.

For Those Who Can't Find True Love by illneas ✍🏼 "Maybe we once visited the same dream" ✍🏼When I asked illneas if I could make a video for one of his poems I wasn't expecting he to say yes and be so kind to share Iness's voice and give me the trust to work with his and her art. I just want to thank him for that! If you don't know who illneass is: he is the best youtuber poet out there I have ev...
So Now By Charles Bukowski
มุมมอง 10Kปีที่แล้ว
So Now By Charles Bukowski "There's nothing to declare here... just a waiting" 🍂 In its simplicity, this poem from Charles Bukowski shines like not other. "So now" is one of the most realest poems he ever wrote, so much that I could feel as if I understand him way better by just reading it. In this video, I wanted to convey the loneliness and nostalgia that the poem made me felt. Using a house ...
Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep | A Visual Poem
มุมมอง 36Kปีที่แล้ว
🌸 Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep 🌸 This is a visual poem I personally took my time to make. Dealing with grief and the pain of a loss is hard, complex and sometimes incomprehensible. I dedicated it to my dear friend Isabel that has been in a journey of healing and understanding her own grief. She's a wonderful person and I hope that this video makes her -and others going through the same jou...
The Genius of the Crowd by Charles Bukowski
มุมมอง 66K2 ปีที่แล้ว
"They will believe your love incomplete, and then they will hate you... and their hatred will be perfect." 🔥 This is one of the sharpest poems from Charles Bukowski. It wasn't a surprise that most of you voted for it on the poll I did a couple of months ago. I have to confess that I was afraid of bringing this poem to life. It wasn't easy at all to envision it and because of that it took me qui...
Invictus by W.E. Henley
มุมมอง 3.4K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Invictus by W.E. Henley Here you can donate to rescue afghan lives: gofund.me/f1060d98 It is said that William Ernest Henley wrote this poem when he already had lost one of his legs. He tried to lift up his spirit and courage by writing every one of these sentences. That's why I believe this is a precious piece of poetry for everyone who has lost hope in life. In my case, being a refugee and ha...
Tonight I Can Write by Pablo Neruda

Tonight I can write the saddest lines, a poem by Pablo Neruda. 💭 I think this is the hardest video that I've uploaded so far. One subscriber asked for this poem and since I'm immensely grateful for all your support I wanted to make this poem come to life. Just hope that I made it justice! Thanks again for watching and supporting this channel! 💭 Some Neruda’s Books: 📔The Poetry of Pablo Neruda a...
The Dark Edge by Charles Bukowski
มุมมอง 41K3 ปีที่แล้ว
"There I was, trying to get pushed over the dark edge... and I ended up with free drinks". 💧 This poem by Charles Bukowski is one of my favorites. As someone who once suffered from many long periods of depression, I can relate to it deeply. I still remember when I had my first case of depression and how confused I was. I believed that no one could understand how I felt... until I found this nov...

and what a beautiful video...keep working
My father passed away 4 days ago and I have never felt as lonely in my life as I do now
"... waiting to Live. Waiting to Die..." He got Everyone's Mood.
❤ it
I have a friend who suffered from AMPS when she was a kid. She went through a rehabilitation program and was one of two survivors in a group of 30, all of whom she made deep connections with, and many of whom ended their lives. When she told me her story, I could not stop crying. The emotional and physical pain that some people undergo truly makes me wonder why some people are born to suffer that way…
What a very beautiful poem, beautifully read, thank you
Each of us are nothing, unless we find something beyond ourselves. Seek Christ and find Him. The love and mercy you find will redefine you.
I don't know exactly. But i feel lonely i feel like nobody is around me will ever understand me their talk is shallow they are fake and they liked there reality.

the best at war (capitalism) are those who preach peace (capitalism)
Like he saw this "woke" insanity coming 😂😂.
The phone rings, “he has his girl calling me, telling me We know where you are” to this day when I see his women an enormous fear overcomes me. They ‘now that I know that they have been calling me at his instructions and that I am powerless, just an o jest of their ridicule.
What is this drivel? it's certainly not poetry, it's enough to make anybody look for a rope, Bukowski was the greatest fraud in the literary world and the indulgent adulation for his rubbish is not deserved.
💗🕯 Thank you.

loved it <3
When I was in the university my literature teacher was randomly saying only the names of the topics we had to talk about in front of the class. When she mentioned the name Because I Could Not Stop for Death I raised my hand and she asked: are u sure? It is difficult. I was about to back off but I just couldnt i felt like I had to do it and thank God I did it kuz when I read it in front of the class and gave my interpretation the whole place was in complete silence it was kike if Emily herself had walked in and sat there to see how I give my speech. My professor was so happy and since then I started reading her poetry and I myself write poetry and she is ine of my biggest influences.
DIMENSIONS Lili The Underworld, the Netherworld, a place most cannot see Where people from the past exist, their time our future now When mystery of stranger things, appear we are perplexed Visits from the other side who knows what will be next? But it's not new, the ancients knew, the evidence abounds Lines of pyramids, we cross, they cross, it's all in knowing how. Within our minds if we explore, the portals as they're known The doors will open wide, some find them just by chance And venture through lost for all time, they cannot leave the trance But others from one side or both who learn the way to pass Can travel and return again, a new world, future, past What's to be gained? reward or peril we cannot just stay still We've gained the gift, we can't refuse our destiny at last. A strange new world, we learn to speak the tongues all spoken there Some we meet who've traveled too, we find we can converse We learn from them, they learn from us and so our minds expand To learning Nature's deepest truths within our Universe And when we find the travelers lost, we show the long way back Lead them to the portal's door and then they leave our hand But most have chosen not to leave, they've found their promised land. The Spirits help us find the doors, we're joined within our heart They travel with us to the door and bid us to depart We're home again but where is home when different worlds entice? I love them both, there must be more I crave for more, more worlds, more joy, more time When we return we find that time for us has all stood still But we have learned from lifetimes there and now we all must share The gifts we all have taken back, our minds, our hearts fulfilled. They call us Witches, evil beings, they'd hang us all today We don't hurt them, they would kill us if they could Wizened Spirits, they'd burn and torture, slay But if they ask we'd teach them all the secrets of the worlds The potions for their health, their own Gods will not share Now who is evil when their book, not one word does impart One recipe, one herb, one potion, one word for broken hearts. Blessed be.
Life and death are all about context. For instance trying singing this poem to the theme from Gilligan's Island. A life well lived is not met with sadness at the end.
Speechless
“Those who preach God, - Need God”……so much time lost, so many losses, so much heartbreak.
the end of all ends

Having heard Cynthia Nixon speaks this poem, at the end of the film A Quiet Passion, in which she played Emily Dickinson herself, I can't listen to anyone else now.
How's your copyright with the Bukowski estate?
A person is smart, people are stupid. I stay alone on porpose. Safer that way.

Backgroynd music destroys a beautiful poem
