You should have some background in computational neuroscience...try to do some internships in the field. The PhD admissions are very competitive in MIT

Yes, the BS MS syllabus includes all the subjects in the first two years, so you can definitely take Physics as your majors and do a Phd in physics

yes bro as a science institute why they do that, this should not be done there but there are people only who are running that institute and its their religious practice, they call it culture, what we can say, if they really respect their god they should do it in their hostel rooms and not like this, intead there should be days like appreciating previous scientists research and they should embrace old scientific community

It is not the institute that organizes this, it is organized by a group of students who are away from their homes and wish to celebrate their festivals. Everybody is welcome to join. I think it's good to see other cultures through festivals like onam, pongal, lohri etc in the same institute.

Thank you! Yes, you can definitely apply for a postdoc at MIT. MIT media lab is a good option. Postdoc applications don't usually have a timeline. You can apply whenever you are ready like a few months before completing your PhD.

The stipends for PhDs and postdocs are mentioned in the official websites of institutes so I would say it varies from institute to institute. And it is easily available on all the institute websites. But I can compile some and let you know in some video
