More like everything wrong with rally games: piss filter, codemasters trademark flat track, gymkhana plague. Rally is about endurance and that's something they all get wrong with five minute tracks and filler modes.

I have downloaded this game to try my h shiter to my wheel, and well configured is amazing. The force feedback is decent, but you can improve it with little tweaks, and also with a secuential shifter is on another level. The countersteering with wheel feels really natural for the physics system

I love the game, but it can absolutely fuck right off with the required gymkhana segments. I wanna drive rally stages, don't make me do something I don't find fun.

Same here ! Just purchased a Thrustmaster T128 and until yesterday (steam promotions, particulary on Dirt 2.0) it was my only rally game. With some works (tips found on the web easily), it's good and fun with my wheel.

Currently replaying the 360 line up 😩 completed them on pc, but want my 360 HD, to have save games of them all I love the old dirt series wish they would make it again like it was

Tried it. Didn't like it. Sticking with ACC. Also I found the control setup to be far off and I needed to do a lot of changes

I have to disagree with you here good sir. I think dirt 2 was way better. The presentation of that game was way better, and I personally can do very fine without gymkhana game mode. The trailer and festival in dirt 2 made the game more special and more engaging. But I respect your opinion that you like dirt 3 more.

I'm going to play through the game again on the pc. Cat and Mouse used to be my addiction. Thanks for bringing this awesome game back outta the dungeon. I'm glad it still works on my Steam.

I play many sims but this one is still probably my fav to just chill I bought "Premium" package like 3 years ago at this point and I don't regret it because I enjoyed every of 500h I have on my counter since then I was able to add all released tracks (like 5 or something like that), some cars and I still have like 3k points left that I won from time trial raffles and some leagues which is nice thing sadly it isn't so populated but in EU time zone at evenings u can find ranked races and also these events where u need to qualify with hotlaps has decent amount of players idk if it ever will have more attention since there is more and more competition and there is not enough players since simracing market still is kinda niche but they still bring new updates that push this title forward I play on wheel but I know there are few really fast people that also use mouse to steer which probably is even better than controller and it's amazing that it is possible in sim game, lol

Dirt 3 was too much gymkhana and too little rally. also locking legendary rally cars behind a paywall was a huge downer.

Dirt 2 is my all time favorite, i was also not that good on gymkhana but i loved Cat and Mouse mode online😂, i wish they can bring those modes bacK

Yesterday I was in the old F1 series at Road America and I was battling a guy. We were about equal... he was faster in some and I was faster in other parts. I was a little faster coming out of the carousel there and I gained enough to be side by side going into the FAST kink before the back straight. I was on the outside and none of us lifted off the gas and somehow took the corner side by side without incident. That was probably the best battling I've experienced, only because that corner is nearly impossible to maintain a line, especially in the twitchy F1 cars. Good battling is enjoyable regardless of position!

The car physics either glues you or pings you off, whatever change they made in fm7 to make it possible was removed in fm8.

Joke for a racing game. At least online.

I put over a 1000 hours a year in racing games using pad. Agree with your list. My go to are F1, PC2, Grid legends but more recently EA WRC… Once get used to it the game on pad is Epic and what’s more makes you feel EPIC I am a EA Champion on EA answers. But my thoughts are my own. I simp for no one

Having played the game a bit more since recording this I can honestly say it's the best handling sim-racing game for controller that I've played. However, I just don't know if it's worth paying the money to get more tracks and cars, especially as not many people are playing the game online anymore. I'd be very interested to hear what you guys think, so please let me know your opinions in the comments!

it is incredible how well Dirt 3 holds up! I recently played through it again on my PS3.

I loved Dirt 2 and 3 soooo much😍 Dirt 4 was ok but also kinda lost the „Dirt DNA“ for me. Then I tried Dirt 5 and was greatly disappointed. It’s the worst of them all and it has no character in my opinion. Feels like a mobile game

The ACR Viper is a beast in this game. Every race I've had in it has gone well.

My racing games: eRacer (i'm old), Dirt 2, FH4, Assetto Corsa. First 3 on keyboard. AC on wheel.

I feel you I'm trying to get some good racing but a lot of jerks just want to ram their way to the front and it's sad cuz I really do like Forza multiplayer it's a lot of fun

I'll add emulation of Gran Turismo 1-5 on PC. With mods you can get full analog control and feel like you're driving in Gran Turismo 7.

Nice list and well-explained attributes for the games. I have played most of these and agree with you that they are really good picks for racing games. One thing though: maybe be more specific about what platform the recommendations are for, because I was expecting to see Gran Turismo on the list but then realized at some point that you're probably only going to list games for Xbox and PC. Maybe add that to the title?

Happens all the time. The red car wouldn’t have seen you if not playing in third party view. A radar system needs implementing as most people turn off the proximity arrows because they are useless
