Descent Gameplay
Wanted to try a capture with DOSBox. Besides some needed cropping, the video from OBS looks good. No music because I'm not a fan.

Dr. Brain Gameplay 1

This is another old pc game from my past. Got it running on a Win98 Virtualbox but the audio emulation isn't perfect. I remember playing this beginning part over and over again just to get stuck and not be able to move on. I'll have to play more to get to the stuck point and see if I can figure it out now.

Got some of my old computer games working on a Win98 virtualbox. This is one of my first ever video games. Thought it would be cool to share this piece of history. Couldn't figure out how to get the music working.

First go at capturing Dark Souls. I need to run my capture software after the game is up and running to prevent it from crashing. Frames are pretty bad but I'm used to it by now. I need a better CPU soon. location - Painted World of Ariamis Rez - 1920x1200

This is pretty much the sum total of what i've been able to do with screen caps. Smooth video, sound, and some basic post processing.
You know what's strange. Sometimes the direction of a level is randomized like in the first level you might have to go Northeast Northwest whatever, but it's still the same puzzles and obstacles
FINALLY I REMEMBERED THE NAME OF THIS GAME. SUDDENLY I REMEMBER BEFORE GO TO SLEEP 😂
I feel like I was drawn here as if by a will-o-the-wisp. I'm not sure how the memory was pulled up, but I managed to remember the game's name. I had so much fun with this as a kid, even though I had no idea what was going on haha! What a blast from the past
iv been looking for this game for 10 years.
I finally found it, thank you modern internet!
This game is like a core memory for me. Watching this gives me such a strange feeling of nostalgia. I was so young when I played this I remember none of it yet it all seems so familiar. It was one of the first games I ever played and is probably the foundational context through which I understood all games after.
Sweet
Once again I find these games I’ve played as a kid and I was too young to understand the math. My dad was a geek and made me play these games. Also was so scared to play this game because of the aliens. Cheers!
Great game with awesome music ❤️I miss this
I was not a smart kid. I remember wandering around the first area of this video for hours upon hours.
That takes me back...
ive been trying to figure out how to ply this, is it possible with this kind of download? www.myabandonware.com/game/dr-brain-thinking-games-iq-adventure-dt0
the music actually sounded good. i had an awesome childhood!! thank god for pc games
Watching this was a real trip down memory lane. This was the first game I worked on as a programmer. I programmed all of the puzzles. I don't think I ever played the finished game all the way through though.
Even Dr Brain himself has been revamped!
that is really cool. This game was included in a mickey mouse comic magazine, and i played the shit out of it. Wish 16 bit games would still work as is on windows 10
i remember i used those insects to trip the traps in that first level. must have played 50 hours in that area alone.
can't believe its you, your name is in the credits. Great job on that game.
Cool! I played this game a lot as a kid - the parts where you're chased by the mutated aliens low-key traumatized me, but overall the game was really fun :D

omg this is my childhood right here!! Please tell me youre going to continue the playthrough
Please finish this if you would be so kind. I would be very grateful!
I wish I never got rid of the disk. And I don't know if I can run it on Windows 10. Tried downloading a file but I couldn't figure out how to install the game from there.
RainingMetal im like a year late on this, but you can run Windows 98 games on Windows 10 32 bit! (64 bit doesnt work, idk why though) You might need something like 7zip to extract the files if they don't come as a .zip. once its extracted, just look for the setup file, and you should be good to go! I've gotten files of the JumpStart games to work without needing a virtualbox.
@@Tekkiii i've tried doing this but this download only gives me a .bin file www.myabandonware.com/game/dr-brain-thinking-games-iq-adventure-dt0
pretty good, sucks the games' locked at 30fps
do a part 2!!!
Very nice, looked for this game for a long time, I forgot the name of it. Thanks for the GP-Vid! Keep it on
Omg nostalgia
I used to have the demo of this game. It had a shortened version of the jungle area, and an additional game where you push around pipes and fix things.
omg i miss this game so much D= was it hard to configure to a new laptop????
Got it running on a virtual machine with Windows 98 installed. It was a bit of a hassle. Win98 unpatched is no fun.
@@Treelimb330 it works on windows xp out of the box. I tried with win98 but its a pain. Windows xp iso, and some key online and boom.
Would you be able to post the remaining levels? Thanks, and no worries if not

I HAD THIS SHIT
I just found it in my sisters' old CD bag. And I'm gonna do a full Let's Play of it with commentary at some point. +1 for nostalgia!
I remember this. one of the first computer games I played. the first level when you get to the part where you talk to the green thing, I was to young to realize you had to click the words in the bubble to move on XD
even today it took me ages to figure that out.
... >.<
