Factory Five Daytona 7.3L Godzilla Swap | Header Fabrication and Build
As the 7.3l Godzilla continues to prove itself as a popular engine swap platform we try our best to be innovative and push forward with new and different swaps. The 7.3 is already a popular platform for the cobra platform however no one has put one of these motors into a Daytona, until now. Utilizing parts designed by indy power products and an awesome ITB setup from Innov8 Race Engines, this nearly factory ford crate motor will put down nearly 600hp and 600tq through a tremec t56 magnum. This swap did not come without challenge however, we had to fabricate our own custom set of headers and engine mounts which is what this video is about.

Hello. Please tell me what is the firing order in the cylinders? Do you use an X pipe, an H pipe or does the exhaust not cross?

At the 7 minute mark you talk about dual fans, a primary and secondary fan. The 1st fan is PWM controlled, from the PWM Controller I assume and then its mentioned the 2nd fan switches on when you reach 100% speed. I'm assuming the Deutsch connector has a control signal which turns the relay on for the secondary fan to run 100%, straight off the battery, correct? If I want to run both fans together controlled only by the PWM Controller, no ECU control, then do I simply connect both fans to the "M" connectors on the PWM Controller and that's it, I'm done?
Seems like a great product but no real discussion on how to hook it to the fans or the trigger. Seems like hooking to the power supply (battery) is probably the easiest portion.
Blade pitch and size determines the amount of air a fan can move. Straight blades are cheap. That’s why you use them. They’re less efficient but cheap to produce. Backward-Curved Blades: These are the most common blades used in efficient fans. They impart a backward rotation to the airflow, reducing turbulence and enhancing efficiency. Similar to a boat propeller where the objective is to get as much push with the least about of turbulence. A fan company that doesn’t even understand the physics of the product they sell. Not a recipe for success!
Great product. I would love to see a simple sensor like an 10K NTC Thermistor Probe for input rather than a screw in temperature sensor. The rush current feature is a plus.
Does this controller have soft start so when both fans come on when the aircon is switched on I don't have a huge power dip?

Can I hook this up to the fan signal in the Gen V ecm?
I have an X5 BMW diesel with a 850 watt electric fan. It seems the built in controller has fried. Bench tested with a PWM signal generator but it wont work. This is 3 wire fan. Positive, negative and the small controller wire. The output of the controller is three terminals into the fan stator. Does your controller have a 3 wire output?

It seems like a great product, unboxing and installation both great videos. Really explained how to install it but the video didn’t show the system in action. Hopefully in future videos. Love the design of the case compare to other brands, well engineered. Trying to buy one set but always sold out, hopefully I will be able to buy a set and install it in my Mercedes 600SEL.

That was the Motor this car was built to have, but the owner wanted a 7.3, and we develop parts for the 7.3. So the more platforms that we have to test our products on the better.

This is awesome but I’m so confused on the intake, throttle body, centrifugal blower, and what looks like a screw blower. Help me out here
its a centrifugal blower running through our custom intake with a heat exchanger inside. We also utilize 2 separate throttle bodies, one on the intake used as a typical throttle body, and one on the charge tube to bleed off boost from the supercharger depending on conditions, track size, ect.

Great job! Such a cool car, it’s going to be a blast with the Godzilla motor. Have you ever used Solar Flux on the inside of the Stainless so it doesn’t sugar instead of back purging and using so much Argon?
A Shelby Daytona and GT40 are 2 kit cars I’d love to have.

Its in our storage shop put away for the winter, we made some changes to it late in the year which we will go over next season or when we work on it; whichever comes first.

Very curious of what transmission is in this. Last I heard the 7.3 doesn’t have provisions for a pilot bearing.
This series isn't followed closely enough. Truly some fabulous cars and engineering
Bob Folkestad, owner of Creative Werks (CWI) in Des Moines, Iowa has built a thumpin’, ProCharger-urged 7.3L Godzilla engine stuffed into a Fox body Mustang that has already made over 1,300 horsepower to the rear wheels and has competed in the Optima Challenge. The intake is a Creative Werks billet aluminum piece.
Are you going to take that thing to that Race in Colorado? Like Pikes Peak or something like that? The place Aaron Kaufman took his car on that show.

Some concerns and constructive criticism I hope. Doesn't starting the motor at 100% eliminate the soft start capability basically? Also it would be nice to have the override Percentage adjustable for A/C usage if needed.And finally when is 0-5v going to be available?
