Virtual Shipmate: Judi Bruns
During this year's Sail for Hope, we're sailing for Virtual Shipmate Judi Bruns, from Aspen, CO. She has set several goals as part of her One More Step Challenge:
- Continue my Ski Instructing career
- Setting a goal to ski Highland Bowl within a few years
- Get past my self-consciousness about seizures, and help others learn more about epilepsy.
We applaud Judi for these goals and look forward to sharing a future video of her skiing the Bowl!

Congratulations to our Virtual Shipmate Sean McPartland, who recently completed a full circumnavigation of the globe with the @ClipperRTW. We caught up with Sean during his port stop in Seattle, asking him what he'd like to tell others who have epilepsy: "Epilepsy might stop one or two things, but it's not what you can't do, it's what you CAN do. And, you know, you can achieve so many things if...

A Race to the Start Line

Just getting to the start line is a race in itself. Winter Project: Mast Track Upgrade
มุมมอง 1046 หลายเดือนก่อน
After experiencing an equipment failure that hampered performance during the 2023 Bermuda 1-2, we decided to implement an upgrade to the mast track aboard Fearless. This winter we installed a @harken track and sliders that removes the need for a mast gate (which had covered the slot that our old sliders fed into on the mast). We're about two months away from the start of the @bermudarace and we...

    That’s amazing Judi. I stopped skiing when I was 15 out of fear…I hope that one day I can regain some confidence. 😊

    Hi Phil, Thank you for the message from the middle of the Atlantic. I was due to do my Level 2 training later this week but it has been cancelled last minute and reoganised for the end of August. The main training I am doing is more fitness approached. Thank you for thinking I am 31 which I wish I was but I am actually 51. Keep up the good work and may you have fair winds and following Seas. really good to see content like this i just recently got diagnosed with epilepsy as i had a tonic clonic seizure just over a month ago and am on anti seizure meds as of now so, so far so good but my dream job was to be a pilot but it is kind of off the table now with my recent diagnosis but sailing or working on a boat has always been a another dream of mine really hoping i can do something like this in the future.

      @Fearless-sailing 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are so many similarities.Though I didnt want to be a pilot a a profession I did want to learn to pilot a plane. But, clearly that was out. Then I slowly looked for other dreams. When I was young I used to do white water kayaking. After my head injury I felt that was too dangerous. But I love being on the water. So eventually I decided to learn to sail and got hooked. Keep being positive and you will find something that fits.
