No grand plan to make this a big channel, but I enjoy creating videos to look back on what I have learned and the fun I have had. Most of what I publish will be on hobbies I enjoy.
Cheers.

I have chinese sks with the first number being 8 followed by six numbers. From my understanding you would add 8 to 1955. 🤔
I had a Russian SKS and my friend got a Type 56 'french tickler' last week so i helped to disassemble it and remove the cosmoline. When i was putting it back together i found the trigger group extremely hard to push back in because the little metal hook on the bottom end of the receiver has a flat top surface unlike the round/sloped on my Russian SKS. So i had to use a screwdriver to push the hook in first then the trigger group could finally get back in place. Not sure if this is but a single case or a common small flaw on the Type 56 ft.
@@ursaminor3740 I’m not surprised. The Chinese made things to fit VERY tight in comparison to the Russians. I have to use 3-4x more force with my Chinese rifles.
@@MikeThompsonn Aha! Tight, yes like their ladies;)
Great job bug help ! Thanks
In the US we got the M21 version made in 1979. Seems identical in parts to this one. Ours didn’t have bayonets, they had to be removed for import, but no pin in the magazine.
@@ted356 I have an M21 as well. Exactly the same, but stamped for export. Our govt pins everything to 5 rounds here
Have you had any issues with the front break cable being pulled back outside of the grommit?
I have the same question 😅
I can't find the link in the description. Can you post a link to the original part again? Thanks in advance.
Did you had to change side stands
Accuracy test video maybe?
@@jamesmcdonald9857 yes I have a yugo, different Russians, different Chinese - I could see what preforms best
I was wondering is there any way, that if the shifter is wobbly that I would be able to tighten it?
Nice video
Hi there where did you get your headlights from?
Fitted one of these windshields to my Rebel 500. Gave it a good try but have had to remove it. Wind noise at highway speeds was intolerable (+90kph/55mph). Wind turbulence around my helmet sounded like constant sonic booms or constant loud backfiring in my ears. Ear plugs made little difference. Didn't matter whether the helmet vents were open or closed. Went for a long ride today with the windshield removed and without ear plugs. It was back to normal type of wind noise which is not very loud at all. A very pleasant ride again. Putting one hand in front of my chest I could feel wind pressure that wasn't there with the windshield. However I would not have noticed the difference in wind pressure on my chest if not for that "hand test". Maybe it's peculiar to my helmet or height (5' 6'') but this windshield certainly didn't work out for me. Pity. I liked the look and liked the way it protected my phone or GPS from the wind stream when mounted to the nav bar above the gauges housing.
Did you lower the front end as well?
WR250R is still a better and more powerful dual sport than the 300L. What about the 250L??😂😂
Who makes your luggage rack and engine guards?
Nice find! I’m still an iron sight guy, but it’s nice to have such a quick detach mechanism and have iron sights capability with the optic off.
Where did you get the seat from my friend 👍
EBay it’s a cover
I kinda want

Interesting! I had the 23 million I bought in last year, painful to see they are putting the magazine pin in a different location on those 24 million now! They are definately f*cking with the S/N now, damn! But what I see you got there was your shellac is absolutely smoother than my 23 million! I went through about 10 of these 23 million, and the paint on almost all 23 million were rough. Out of interest, which shop did you get your 24 million from?
@@jerryjin3427 I have two of them. One from g4c and the other from gotenda
Thanks for the great video. I'm wondering if either of those retailers let you inspect the rifles before purchase, and how extensively?
@@smp22 I didn’t. I ordered online. From experience- both are great and I have always had great products roll through.
That’s bizarre. I was sure this is a basic feature that’s found on all modern FAs. I checked my cabinet, and not one will allow for a discharge when out of battery.
@@helterskelter156 I thought so too it’s quite odd
Is that a Tula sks?
Good eye - it is indeed
I was eyeing these for a while, but certain chromed out parts make it look a bit odd… cheapens it a bit. Just my opinion, and no offense meant. Gorgeous piece, that I should finally add To my collection.
Yeah they certainly look a bit different. I’ll be sure to do some more in depth side by side videos.
@@MikeThompsonn Do it! Enabler…! 😆
You mentioned that the plastic cover is brittle - have you had any issues, yourself?
Not personally- but the guys at bass pro said they have seen them break during winter shoots
@@MikeThompsonn It makes sense, given that everything gets harder and more brittle in freezing temperatures. The all plastic models (Jungle stock SKS) were holding up great in warm climate, but never tested in the cold, brutal winters. Mind you, after a couple of rounds, I bet this cover will get pretty toasty..! I got a French Tickler to add to my collection, earlier this month, and agree with your overall sentiment - it is by far the nicest SKS I’ve seen.
@@helterskelter156 yes they are quite nice! The tolerances in manufacturing is by far the tightest and certainly the most accurate
Standing up might help you get some leverage when the wheel is digging it self deeper in those puddles, saves you getting soaked too.
Atf has made it difficult for manufacturers of arms to have out of battery because they say it can make it easier for full auto machine guns to be made out of semi autos. Thank you atf...
Nice SKS. I didnt know that they had internal mags for the longest time, nor how much work it is to convert one to use magazines. The one my dad has uses AK magazines. Says he overpaid for it. ($160 in the 80s)
Haha they are amazing firearms for the price. He didn’t over pay. He should have bought more at that price! I’ll have more videos on them in the future- I have 5 of them lol
Gorgeous SKS
I love my 09 heavily moded versys
Sorry to hit you with another question. Would the handlebar risers cause any clearance issues with the bracket attachment at the gauge if you had not had to put in that bend to clear the headlight cowl?
@@kenhogan1433 no there should be enough room. No issues with clearance
@@MikeThompsonn Thanks again Mike. Will be doing this in the near future.
Good times. Check out Cape Clear the next trip. All kinds of cool little spots up there

Great videos! Where you get the skid plate ?

@@MikeThompsonn the 2015-2024 would fit ? is what i can find on amazon

Any followup on what Tail Bag you used for this particular rack? I bought this fender rack and I like how it looks, but now I'm having trouble finding a mid-small size tail bag for it. Would like to see a video of what you use and how to put it on the rack.
I’ve had issues with this as well. No specific bag as of yet.
What lowering link did you get?
@@markhollingsworth7715 lustracing
Thanks for the video. Why did you have to bend that bracket? Was it because of the headlight cowl? I have a model without a headlight cowl so thinking maybe I would not have to bend the bracket.
If you don’t have cowl - no need to bend. I had to bend because of cowl.
@@MikeThompsonn Thanks.
Hi, this is exactly what I am looking for. Will these risers fit a 2024 Rebel?
Yes they should
love it! thats my neck of the woods. I recognize the trails. some I wish i didnt hahaha!
What wrench did you use? Love the Honda Rebel's - hoping to get the 500 - may yet pivot to CB500X
Thanks! I was hoping that it can be done without almost removing the entire right side... seems I was wrong. The manual makes it seem easy lol Cheers!
So it has been a year.. what are your thoughts on this? Did you keep it installed? Was the wind between the cowl and the windshield noisy or cause any buffeting? How well did it keep wind off your chest? I'm considering doing the same thing for my Rebel.
It’s worked well. Keeps it’s mostly off the chest and I don’t get buffeting on my helmet. I don’t do a ton of highway riding and I find the back road/city riding to be optimal with this setup.
@@MikeThompsonn Thank you for the reply! Did you get any whistling noises with the gap?
@@candacea749 no noise at all
